I recently found an article on the Flesh tearers and was interested by them. They seem to be the Emperors answer to Korn! Does anyone know anything more about them? The article I read was on the Uk gamesworkshop site and didn't say much. Is there a set of unnofical rules floating around on the net anywhere?
Has anyone here tryed play with/against them? They appear to be quite differnt from stadard marines and should have rules representing this, if they exist. A pre-emptive Thanks for any help!
I want to say Katie Drake plays Flesh Tearers...I could be wrong though. I know she plays some form of Blood Angels...
Flesh Tearers are a Successor Chapter to the Blood Angels. They did have their own variant rules in 3rd edition, but will need to use the Blood Angels rules now.
Which isn't all bad.
They have suffered the ravages of the Curse moreso than their Primogenitor. Their numbers have dwindled to about 400 Marines and their fleet now consists of a very old (Venerable?) Battle Barge and four Strike Craft that have been modified to handle a full Company each (which I would assume would be Gladius-type, as it is the only one large enough to have any transport capability).
as above, the FT rules and fluff in 3rd ed were published in a Chapter Approved article in WD and hence are in one fo the CA books
The rules were an add-on to codex BA
Having discussed this with GW the general thing is you would need opponents permision to use them in 4th ed, and new codex BA rules will make the old rules for FT broken
Gist was: bigger death company, if anyone went it had to be vet sgts, death company dreads
as bannus said, the chapter has shown more susceptability to black rage than BA themselves, the numbers are dwindling, currently at about 400. They have a bad rep amongst other imerials, priciply cos they seem to kill everything in site, regardless of whose side it is on, this is from Armegeddon Fluff, which is I suspect what you have read, which details a report from some SOB who saw FT rip right through some orks, and the IG they were fighting!
Everything you have been told is a lie!

I have been playing Flesh Tearers for about 2 years and Blood Angels for 8. They are a fun army, as most players know that they are terrible opponents but either don't know or can't remember the fluff. They just see you putting down some "Blood Angel" like Marines and when they learn that they are Flesh Tearers, they get nervous! Fun Army, get back story! Mine are led by a jump pack Librarian, with lightning claws, death company dreadnought and about 50 Marines (tactical) plus Rhino transport, Vindicator and two land speeders.
