I really like my exterminator and griffin model's, and wish to use them in an army list... But I have seen that they have been taken out of the new codex, is there any way to still use them via rules wise, instead of just asking my opponent to use an out dated codex?
They are fine for friendly games but I don't believe they are tournament legal anymore.
Which is really stupid. Why did they take them away from us? It's not like guard are an overpowered team who need curbing. There is a lot that i would like to see in the imperial armour codex that should be given to the regualr guard codex. I like the earthshaker platform as an alternative to the basilisk. They are fine for friendly games but I don't believe they are tournament legal anymore.
Don't remember for sure about the Griffon, but the Exterminator is in the GW rules for Armored Company you can download on their site in the IG section.
And no, they're not GT legal unfortunately. RTTs might still allow them though, you'll just have to check.
We all carry on,
When our brothers in arms are gone.
So raise your glass high
For tomorrow we die,
And return from the ashes you call.
Yeah they are both awesome tanks! Although the Vanquisher is my favorite guard tank over all:yes: The Griffin is a pretty nifty heavy troop killer and its nice n cheap!
For those of you who didn't know. this past weekend according to the gameworkshop gameday release. they are in the fall going to being releasing the apocalypse. it is a supplamental codex like the armageddon codex. this will include many of the old tanks and even a super heavy. this will be the baneblade. they will be releasing a plastic model of it and consideration on releasing other models sometime next year. so yes we will be able to field the griffon, exterminator, vindicator and so forth pretty much like armored company or 3rd ed. codex.
i think the reason they ganked the griffon was because it was a 65 point heavy mortar tank. did good damage and if it got destroyed, who cares it costs little more than a bare infantry squad.
personally i prefer the look of the heavy mortar on the griffon over the cannon on the basilisk. i prefer the short stout look over long skinny look for weapons.
