A terminator squad is labelled as x points in the dark angel codex.
A drop pod costs y points and can only carry 5 models in Terminator armor.
A independent character may join a terminator squad and deep strike with them.
However, the pod can only hold 5 models.
So how exactly does this work?
1) My terminators drop with the pod and my independent character regular deepstrikes with them?
2) I am unable to use a pod if I wish to deepstrike both my terminators and my indepedent character?
3) I divide x by 5 because of 5 units. That means (x/5) points per model. I subtract (x/5) from x to represent the cost for 4 terminator models and then my independent character may deepstrike with the unit.
4) I have no bloody clue.

Well going with RAW, I believe that Dark Angel Terminators are not allowed to use Drop Pods anyways. It doesn't list it as a transport option in the Terminator section. Thats how the Dark Angel player in our group reads it anyways. I'd have no problem allowing it myself. You might want to check up on it anyways.

Option 5) Dark Angels Terminators may not have a Drop Pod as a transport.
Deathwing Termies have no Transport options - they may either foot slog it, or Deep Strike normally. One of the sacrifices you make for getting Deathwing Assault.
(I also took the liberty of editing out Points costs for the unit and Pod, since they're not really necessary (though I appreciate your reasoning), and break LO policy.)
Thank you for the prompt replies!
Now I must go and restructure my army as I was unaware of this.
Thank goodness I found this forum before buying anything .
