This question may have been addressed at one time, but I shall ask it again. When looking over the blood angels stuff in white dwarf it says that if you wish to use a successor chapter you can just make up new names for the special characters. (was reading it in a friend's magazine, all the copies at the store i go to are sold out ao I can't give the exact wording from the article.)
My question is, is this something that is ok to do? White Dwarf is all well and good, but will this work in the main rules? I don't want to paint up an army as a successor chapter and then people give me trouble about useing the special characters.
Sure it's fine to do. Works the same way with the other chapters. If you don't want to take an "Ultramarine" army, but want to play the same force, you can use the same special characters.
Some people might give you crap over it, but they just need to get punched in the ovaries.
Nights Justice Space Marines
Eldar Eth Kariel Craftworld
Spear of Kurnous - High Elf Expeditionary Army
So I should be good for tournaments then without being poked at on the rules?
No more NG spearmen, thanks! Now I need some pump-wagons!
