Just a couple of questions concerning the point costs of the units in the BA codex that recently came out in white dwarf.
OK here goes, How come the first five marines in the tactical squad cost Xpts and an additional 5 cost Ypts? Even with a sergeant this doesn't account for the point difference. The same goes for the assault squad as well(Unless of course I can't do math which is a very likely).
And are terminators limited to 5 man squads for Blood Angels because there is no option for adding another 5? The same question for the honour guard as well.
Sorry if these are retarded questions, but thanks for any info.

Well, except for the whole Death Company thing. And massive amounts of Assault Marines. And Baal Preds. And Furiouso Dreads.
But everything else? Oh yeah, gotta follow the rules so the Inquisition don't come a knocking!
I say the problem is not the point costs (except for the extra armor charge is ridiculous) but the lack of diversity and the inability to create a list. I would like the choice to take terminator honor sgt or a cheaper sgt. I would like the option to add an auspex to a sgt or character. I would like to add a jump pack to every character I like.
stuff like that.
BA are now just so underpowered and almost impossible to play in games under 1000pts. they lost furious charge and alot of their other really awesome abilities and upgrades.

Oh, I'm not arguing with Rending on the Death Company and a 105-point Lemartes. And hey! If we start thinking we're underpowered, we can always cop out and buy a Mephiston model, just like every other Blood Angels player is going to. Because he is now the Win Condition.

Blood Angels had a few too many 'freebies' under the old codex. Tactical and devastator marines didn't really need furious charge. For an apparently codex chapter, the style of play just didn't match that. They still have the core advantage of lots of high quality jump pack troops and the death company.
Being space marines helps too...
