lookin at options for this unit is it possible to have assault cannon and multi melta on same model?
Yeah, the m/melta is top mounted with the guy in shotgun controlling it... where the assault cannon is controled by the speeder (so driver would be shooting it)
Alright Land Speeder Tornados used to be my favorite option an extra 80 points. Now they are up to a hundred does anyone think they are worth it? I just got WD 330 last night so I havent thought it out or had a chance to play with the new army.
I am thinking that I may leave my LST home from now on. I never really used it as an anti vehicle unit anyway so the addition of the multi melta / Assault Cannon is pretty useless.
If you build a man a fire he will be warm for a night. If you set a man on fire he will be warm the rest of his life.
Yeah, i'm thinking that they would be better as a plain m/melta anti tank unit (as i'm playing with it) than adding the assault cannon and making it an expensive easily killed unit (which has two weapons that do different jobs... which means that one gun is sort of being wasted.)
But for its standard points, I think its an easy way of taking out enemy tanks quickly.. and claiming objectives...
4 rending shots and a multimelta is a decent tank-hunting setup.
But seriously, for 100 points, they are still worth taking as tornados. Even I'll admit that and I use 3 singlton Tornados.

I've been addicted to World of Tanks lately and neglecting my IG... But it is so... much... fun!
Man, this new system is dodgy.

When compared to other options in the DA army, speeders are probably a good idea, assuming your dead set on DAs.
However, compared to an attack bike, at half the cost of a speeder, and considering that they are much more difficult to destroy, id probably spend my points, and FA slots on them. They have also been reduced in point cost, further making them attractive.
Blood Angels also have Baal predators, if they really want some assault cannons, for 25 more points, you get +3 armor on the front, and +1 on the sides, and an extra heavy bolter. Although you lose some mobility.
However, id probably not use tanks in a BA army, they seem much more suited towards massing infantry, especially assault marines.
