Nope you didn't have to sign up or anything, check the first page of this thread. All you had to do was be active so your points total increased. I have over 15000pts but I am only 11th in the list, I have a chance of winning but it’s all in the hands of the gods of random.

Nope, this is from the first page of the thread:

June 15th we will choose a random winner out of the top 25 members on the experience scoreboard.

It is worked out on your vB experience, which is the orange bar when you click on your user name. There is no mention of it being reliant on post count over the last three months.
