Nope, this is from the first page of the thread:

June 15th we will choose a random winner out of the top 25 members on the experience scoreboard.

It is worked out on your vB experience, which is the orange bar when you click on your user name. There is no mention of it being reliant on post count over the last three months.

Which pretty much makes running the competition for 3 months pointless - very little of the top 25 is going to change over that time with some people having been here for years. Might as well have just picked someone out of the top 25 list back in march and just sent them a box.

Besides the fact there still has not been a conclusion, nor a winner for that matter.

Whenever something is promised, it should atleast be announced on the day. Whether or not a winner is proclaimed, common courtesy should dictate even a simple "competition closed". These things should be followed through, otherwise it's just a bogus carrot.

I mean, a lot of people are very excited about this, and then... *crickets*...

Yet again we get the "everyones angry" assumption. Why is it as soon as anyone aks a question like this the old angry accusations start flying. I for one am not angry in the slightest.
It is not about the prize it is about how the forum looks. The idea of the competition was to promote use of the site and it does not look very good when promises are not kept by the site trying to get you to post on it.
We know it is not our right but conversely we did not make the promise to draw the winner on a certain date or offer the prize, so why are we admonished for pointing out the promises made by the site are not fulfilled.
I for instance have not made a concerted effort to post more to win the prize but I have followed the thread because the idea in principle is good, it will benefit the site if it is run properly.
If I win great but it is not the end of the world, I think it is more important the site looks professional and sticking to draw dates etc is important.

I think you're missing my point (which is different to Zema's, but I do agree with his) - if the contest is based on activity levels from the Dawn of LO Time, then there is absolutely no point running it over 3 months. No amount of posting, voting, blogging whatever in those 3 months will make much of a difference to the all time top 25 users - so it might as well have been given to a random user out of the list when the competition was announced. Hell, the winner might not have even posted this year... in fact if you look at the current top 25, 16 of them have activity levels of 0%. That's over half.

When 99% of people in your competition can't win, I question the point of the competition. It's like a marathon race where a select few get to start a mile from the finishline, and the majority have to start in the next continent. For an example, I've gained 2k points in 2 months - in order to get onto that table, I'd have to post at the same rate for nearly a year. And I post A LOT, so basically this competition is only winnable to people who've been here over a year, and posted like crazy for that entire time.

Edit: don't get me wrong, I would have posted exactly the same had the competition not been on and I do appreciate the site (hence me considering becoming a subscriber) but to imply the competition is open to everyone is a bit misleading.

Enough guys. I agree with most of you especially Zema but its no point bickering about it. They make the rules and the contest is over. Whats done is done and nothing is going to change it. Now all we can and should do is shut up and wait.

First, yes, competition is closed.

Second, yes, it's perfectly reasonable to expect results and to ask when to expect them.

Third, only active members are eligible.

Blackhat will have to clarify the time frame for activity, though, meaning just those three months or some other span.

Due to the nature of his job, BH can be away for extended periods at a time. Whilst the team can mostly handle things in his absence there are still aspects of the site (mostly financial) which are solely run by him (being the site owner). The activity contest is unfortunately one of them.

I have contacted him personally and hope to get a response soon, Thanks for your patience
