I say go for it Blackhat, if it makes those who use the feature have a better time doing it, than I am all for it. The Template thing you are talking about sounds very interesting.

i just typed in Librarium Online | Warhammer 40 and Warhammer Fantasy Battle News in my address bar and there were no army or even game specific links on the home page, also no images, i know i havn't been on long but i do like the old format better.

Well once I get this fixed the new frontpage is gonna equal or better than the old one. There are still access to all the tutorials on the frontpage. Did you actually read anything of the contet on the frontpage because the content is the same now as before.

I should think with a few less placeholder icons that new front page will look very nice. I'm having a few issues with elements lining up properly in safari, but nothing major. Looks promising.

As for blogs, I can see other peoples points. If the point of a hobby blog is to post your wip's, discuss the game, post news etc, then that sort of information is best in the relevant parts of the forum where it is easy to browse through. Having said that in those cases where people post both in threads an in their own blog, anything that makes that easier or prettier will be good.

Could I request that the social groups section gets the next makeover. I'm considering pestering my gaming group to move away form our paid for forum which only 3 of us ever post on to an invite only LO social group where we can still post more private material like addresses etc. Any customization in that department would be v. cool.

With domain mapping you can now have your own domain name connected to the LO hosted blog.

Check out Rogers Blog which is my own blog. This blog is hosted by LO and connected to my domain name.

Okay, blogs are working and is a good option if you dont have any hosting. All you need now is to register a domain name at godaddy or name.com and your ready.
