I don't know what IRC server the chat is on. I used to go there for a while. I voted to keep mainly because I am a member of Druchii.net and their chat is quite fun and every so often you get a new person who ventures in and says hello. I mean so honestly the regulars will always vote to keep. Just because a good amount of people do not go to the chat doesn't mean they won't ever go to the chat so that's why I think it should stick around.

To be fair, I don't really see why we need to vote on this? Does the chat actually drain L-O's resources or anything? I assumed IRC removed that problem completely.

I’ll be voting for yes as I can't honestly see any reason for no O_o (that and I’m a chat regular)

We’re mostly quite helpful fellows and we're always ready to welcome new chatters after all.

I dunno... chat holds no attraction to me, mostly any decent info I get from the site I like to read at length. Short blurbs are seldom helpful or insightful... this is true for me in just about every forum. Posts can be searched and archived, debated in full view of the entire population of the boards, edited for content (no curses, profanity, etc), edited for accuracy (blatantly ignorant statements eliminated) and read uninterrupted by random greetings, chatter and the occasional flaming troll.

Personally, I'll never use chat.

I say get rid of it, because for 1: I do not get on forums to have instant chats. and 2:it adds to the loading time of the page when im trying to stalk and spam all the threads.

The Chat is a great resource.

It made me the man I am today.

Of all people, I know that it takes time and effort to run, and that's exactly why I think that it is still worth to be continued.

It's an investment to really help community, and I got to know a lot of people I never would have met via posting.

Maybe it magically drains bandwidth to the site because of evil wizards...I mean I assume thats the only way that it drains site power. Or possibly now bear with me on this one evil sorcerers because they are always trying to one up the evil wizards

Im not sure how it is exactly happening cause I am not good with computers, BUT its kind of similer to the loading of the advertisement before you reach 500 posts, where every things is loaded and i start typing or click to scroll and it moves or types once then stops for a second, then the chat loads up, then i can continue.
