Just a heads up to everyone.
In the coming days we will be changing the system we use to run the forums. We will be moving from the current InVision system to the better, more functionnal VBulletin system.
This change will be occuring over the course of the next few days, however this may cause some site downtime as the new pages are tested and the database is converted.
Just to put your minds at rest, the entire database will be copied over and so all accounts / user details / threads / posts will be copied to the new system.
Anywho, look forward to the upcoming new system (and lots of sleepless nights on the part of the Admin and Mod teams as we try to get everything working)
The forum template will be updated as soon as the rest of the site is fixed and stable.
As you should have all noticed, the transition to VBulletin happened last night. Now, we are still working through a lot of the bugs and issues that this transition has caused.
If you experience any problems then can you please submit them to http://support.librarium-online.com and NOT PM them to the mod team.

... This looks.... strange...
How is VBulletin better than Invision?
I don't really like this new format, not because it is weird or anything, but because I have become used to Invision boards.
One minor complaint though:
Pinned threads and regular threads aren't separated too clearly.
A number of reasons. Basically it gives us a more powerfull forum system so we will be able to customise it exactly how we want it (this will take time however).Originally Posted by eatmydarkapostle
Plus you have to admit the animated drop down boxes (for things like search) are friggin sweet! That will possably be changed when we further update the skin. Things like that are however at the back of the list of things to do. We first need to make sure that the site works before we worry about how it looks.Originally Posted by eatmydarkapostle
Its really irritating, when I write to my buddies on here, I get this
annoying pop up thing that tells me they havnt activated it yet.
I think it should be universal (Automatically activated) and then
the user should have a choice to turn it on or off.
I got confused when I had to activate mine.

I believe that is a side effect of the transfer we cant do anything about. As users did not have to sctivate PM's on the old forums, when the database was copied over it just set everyone to no.
Short of us Admins going through each user manually I cant see any easy way of setting everyone to active.
Besides a few glitches, the change seems to have gone rather smoothly, the only way I can see is to just notify everyone about the changes, and see what happens. Just one query though, in the community crier window at the top of the page, when i click on a recent forum post, it opens in that little window, any suggestions as to why this is?
