Weeeell, I'm as new to this forum as I am to my latest furore into painting and gaming and whatnot.

In real life I drink and smoke heavily, write (I just graduated a creative writing degree and I'm about 90,000 words into a novel [for an excerpt of which I got a first... huzzah!]), play bass, guitar and banjo, listen to a wide range of music - though probably not as much heavy metal as seems to be a pervading trend here - and hang out with the good chums I made on my course, one of whom is my lovely lady friend, to whom I'm now engaged. I live in Norwich and have yet to fully get into the gaming scene here, though the pub scene I'm very familiar with. I'm 'between jobs', as the unemployable tend to say, though I hope to rectify this situation a bit in the near future. Beyond that I talk a lot of bollocks, complain about really insignificant things, pick people up on their grammar and have a large and uncoordinated hairdo. My life goals include becoming a renowned writer, appearing on QI, and growing a big beard with which I can enter the world beard championships. Oh, and I really, really like tea.

That's me in an over-ripe nutshell

A picture is worth a thousand words, as the saying goes, so here is a short story...

The newer ones have the very big screens that don't do much more than the old ones, except facilitate self-portraits rather nicely.

On the way to Cabo San Lucas, MX. was there for literally 45 minutes. The people at the little airport were very nice, the catering was excellent, and that's about all I can tell you about it.

Ohhh, I love picture stories! Aeroplane just directed me to this thread, so I may as well chime in. Once upon a time I was an art student, a graphic designer, and GW manager. I actually opened up the Colorado GW. I’m a husband, Papa, firefighter and the bulk of my partying days are mostly behind me (mostly.) I still do freelance design and illustration. I'm definitely more of a painter than a player.

I guess I'll follow the picture idea with something.

I'm currently in my last year of University studying Police and Criminal Investigation at this place:

Normally, I live on the beautiful island of Guernsey, in the Channel Islands, between the UK and France:

In my spare time I'm a Special Constable, a volunteer for Guernsey's finest constabulary, and will be joining full time when I complete my degree in April:

So thats me, nothing exciting, but I enjoy myself!

Well I'm a father to 2 boys, oldest is 3 and just started painting figures (unfortunately they're pink due to it being his favourite colour) and youngest is 10 months and has just started walking. I work for a Mental Health Trust, working with older adults (over 65) who have illnesses such as dementia, alzheimer's, parkinsons etc. In my spare time I tend to read alot, play xbox 360, play DoW, CnC3, Gothic 2 and 3 and Two Worlds. Obviously, I'm into figures and tend to do this when I'm either at work on nightshift or after kids are in bed and I'm not too knackered.

I work as an computer technician in Zagreb, Croatia (a small state just south of Hungary and east of Italy). But that's just my day job so to speak. I'm a hobby mechanic, repairing cars and motorcycles for about everybody i know, and my great passion are hot rods and old timers. I play the guitar in a industrial band, we're something of a mix between Rammstein, Laibach, hard rock bands, psychobilly and some more 'techno' artists (depends on the song). Currently i try to modify the engine of an old VW beetle to be fully operational using distiled ethanol (alcohol) as fuel, since industrial alcohol can be produced from almost any kind of organic waste. I'm also working on a DKW (a motorcycle build in the 3rd Reich, i found it while traveling cross country in a tavern, the owner sold it for like 60$ thinking it was junk), I am trying to restore it as good as I can, but too much time is needed for some parts that need to be rebuild from scratch
A few weeks ago i was contacted by a local publisher who wants to buy a collection of my poems (sonets if u care about poetry) and short stories, so... I write... almost professionaly haha but still not good enough!
I'm always looking for something to tinker, to weld and polish, to scrap and reassemble, than when i'm bored i write play music, go out and drink and blabla...

I'm trying to open a club with some of my friends, so that we can all quit our dayjobs and live our 'rebelous, ignorant and pointless' lives.
Besides, proberably the least important thing, i'm studying industrial (not sure if that's the correct term) management, combining technical/mechanical sciences with economy, the best thing for a mechie who wants to be independent IMHO.

P.S. Sorry for the long text, I just wrote what I do, and all those things written are of equal importance, since I think everyone of them is my 'profession'.

question for everyone: are there any hobby mechanics or musicians around here? I'm always looking forward to exchange experience/blueprints, and to ask/answer questions? Sorry for this off topic, i just had to give it a try!
