So anyway, I just downloaded Firefox (A web browser) because one of my parents decided to go and get my computer the nastiest piece of spyware in existence (about:blank) which I subsequently defeated in under 5 minutes. Granted It's gone, but I'm tired of their haphasardly wandering about the internet without regard to the hours of work I have to do to keep this thing from imploding under their tyranical fingers. So I was going somewhere with this... it's really really late... Oh yeah... anyone here use this nifty piece of software, it's pretty decent, internal pop-up blocker, spyware blocker, skinnable (The one I currently have pretty much matches LO's skin) the only issues I'm having with it is IE's perpetual idea that it should be the dominant browser when using other programs. I tried testing with MSN messenger, and Firefox is set to the default browser, well when I went to check my inbox, it opened IE. Annoying, but I'll probably fix that some time this week. I'd highly recommend this browser if you don't like IE. Anyway, off to get Norton Systemworks... time to clean this puppy up.

I hear FireFox is nice. Leo Leport recommends it so it’s got to be good. Personally I use the google popup blocker witch deals with most popups from sites, and don’t install anything other than what you want. Of coarse if you already have a decent load of spy where I would recommend running Spy-bot Search & Destroy. If you want to lock a PC so its idiot proof check out "Deep Freeze". It locks the PC's hard drive so whatever was changed on it is reverted back to its previous state after re-boot. You can set a Thaw space to save documents to that will not be wiped on a Re-boot, and you can "thaw" it to install programs when you need to. -GM Google Tool Bar SpyBot S&D DeepFreeze (you can find DeepFreeze free on some sites, if you look hard enough.)

I'm currently using Firefox and Thunderbird (the e-mail program) and I have to say that I am more than pleased with both of them. They combine everything (well mostly) that I want and so far I haven't hand any glitches whatsoever and I usually roam pretty heavily on the net.

he he. I've used firefox ever since my battle with spyware a bit back (I reformatted) and also use Thunderbird. Two very sexy programs. I've converted my brother from IE, and attempted to convert Sinister Bunny onto it, but he seems to like Oprah ![]() So, I've been using Firefox since January or so, and what do I see the other day in the paper? A nice, long artcle on Firefox and how much better it is than IE. And what's in the same Business section of the Union Tribune (San Diego)? A Dawn of War review. But the whorebag only gave it a 3.5/5. Bah.

"We don't have the regular internet, we have that Netzero internet, the free one" I go over, take the phone out of her hand, and start talking to the survey woman... "Yes, we have the internet" And "Can you put solitare on the desktop, I can't find it" And "Can you download me that web page so I can look at it ?" And "How do I save a picture ?" And "Why are you looking up Stalin" "It's LO mother" "Who are you talking to?" "Posting on LO mother" "What's that" "That's LO mother" I think I need a cattle prod and use negative reenforcement to teach her how to use a computer.
