LO Meet Report Thread!

Friday:

After picking up the Dwarf we headed into Nottingham, and then slowly realising that people phone numbers weren't working, or that my phone had eaten them somehow! =o_O=

We got to the hotel, and Knape and Kuff booked in. I found that Chemical Caveman had indeed booked in, so after knocking on his door, we foun he wasn't in....so I kept my stuff in Knapes room for the time being.

Upon going out though we were told that two Irishmen were in the pub. (Note, the woman got it wrong, as Karaananananaanantis, isn't Irish )

"Ah, what a surprise!" We thought. Irishman in a pub, why didn't we check there first! lol

What was a surprise, was that when we hooked up with Karatalsis and Chemical Caveman (CC), CC wasn't drinking!

We were all like:
"OMG!!!!11"

Not long after that, Neb and Arky turned up, and then explained they had booked the wrong hotel XD They also mentioned that Aun wouldn't be coming till the Saturday.
So we then set off for something to do, and maybe something to eat.

Cinema was out since Morden still had to come in at 9, and bowling fell apart for the same reason. Though we did manage to get something to eat, and some people enjoyed a game of pool before heading back to meet up with Morden.

We ended back up in the pub for more drinkage, and chatted about other 40k stuffs, before Neb and Arky had to leave to go back to their hotel.
So we all ended up in Knapes Room, and chatted some more, as well as finding out how chickens actually die! =x.x=

Though having said that, I would gladly go to a talk or lecture about the most boring subject on Earth if Karatalsis was the speaker. XD

Once it hit 2am though people decided to head off to bed, but all in all the meet had started well! =^___^=

Saturday:

The Saturday morning started off well....well, for me anyway.
CC found out how evil my alarm on my phone is XD and almost jumped out of his bed in sheer terror of it as if went off at 8.15 XD

We ended up getting to Lenton just after 10 O'Clock, and so we then started gaming!
CC's orks went up against King Ulriks Ice Cream marines =^.^=
The Domini Vulpes went up against Nebulas's Eldar.
Knapes Tau, with Orks XD (He forgot to remind me to bring the firewarriors! So Orks were used as Proxxys XD!!) up against Karrots Dark Eldar.
And Arky and Mordy played a Fantasy game I believe, though I forget the armies since Im not a WFB player =^.^=;;;

It was about this time the Wookie turned up with his Sons and one of their friends. It was good to see you Wookie dude! Your Tyranids were cool to see first hand! =^.^=
I regret not being able to play people :/ and wookies nids were one of those armies :/ Oh well, next time! =^.^=

Then it was dinner time, as well as the raffle, and wow.
I bought a book of 500, and we went through about 270 odd tickets! =O____O= Between about 10 to 12 of us!

It was also about this time that Aun showed up =D And it was great to meet him too! As quiet as he was! *pokes teh Aun!*

But Yes, Karatalalallaasis bought £7 worth, then Wookie bought £10's worth, this son then did the same.
Karatalsis wasn't having none of it! then bought £4 more!

In the end we made about £55 worth, which £5 went back to me. So £50 will be putting into my "LO Events" for the next painting contest! =^__^=

Prize Winners:
Wookie: £10 for a bugman item. (Though I think he may have put it towards his new Goblins
Karatalsis: Won the limited Edition, GD Vet Sgt, which he sold to CC XD
Morden: Won the £5 gift Voucher.
Arklite: Won the £10 gift Voucher.

Thanks to everyone that spent money on Tickets, which was all of you =D You have funded LO's next painting contest! BE PROUD! =^.^=;;;

The rest of the afternoon saw the WFB players playing a big game, which I don't think got finished :/ But it did seem fun.
Karatalsis also got CC to play some LotR, and wookies lads continued gaming also.
I hoever battle against the temptation of buying a lighting or Thunderbolt lol...but didn't get on in the end, as my Credit card probably would have killed me in my sleep.

Once it was time to go, it was time to say goodbye to Wookie, as he was only staying for the day. It was good to see you dude! =^.^=

Aun then went to the Hotel in his REALLY NICE STEALABLE CAR! As we walked back.
We then proceeded to Pizza Hut to get some dinner, where Karatalsis and Neb both picked up Ballons =o.O= *grin*
Which ended up having Fox smilies drawn on them, and then tied to Karatalsis's back for most of the night XD!!

Then we hit the pub again for some light drinking and talk, and soon it was time to say goodbye to the Aun dude :/

Pity you couldn't have stayed dude, but it was great seeing those Orges and Tau of yours....and...that car...which will be mine!!! MINE I TELL YOU! MINE!!!!

We then moved into the hotel rooms again and chatted even more, though this time to 2.30 ish XD
Alot of great converstion was had by all.

Including this:

Knape: "Ah but can you turn your enemies into Frogs!"
Karatalsis: o_O "What? In what system?"
Knape: "Lord of the Rings, you said you pretty much do anything."
Karatalsis: "x_x I said you could PREMEASURE everthing!"

XD!!

We also came up with rules for Orgasam checks =o_O= and we also found out how a Necron get its kicks

So...if you ever see a Necron manicly shaking....don't go near it. =o.o=

Sunday:

*Evil alarm goes of at 8.25*

The night before, CC had said he would set his nice alarm for 8.30...so, being the evil fox I am, set mine for 8.25 XD

Sundays gaming was quite fun also.
My Domini Vulpes faced up against CC's Orks.
Karatalsis played vs KU's Marines.
Neb and Kanpe played Fantasy before Neb and Arky had to leave early.

After lunch, Karatalsis got Knape to play some LotR, while Mordy duked it out against CC.

Though finally at 4 O'Clock, Karatalsis said his goodbyes, and we were all kicked out since GW was closing up.
We stayed and had a drink or two with CC and Mordy before they got into their taxies which would be the start of their trips back home.

We took one last look at the hotel, and smiled back on what had been a fantasic, and really enjoyable weekend.

All in all, the weekend had been fantasic. It was great to meet people from the forum, and I am already looking forward to the planning of next years meet, as well as the planing of the upcoming painting contests.

Thanks to all those who came to the LO meet, thanks to all those who took interest in coming, just sorry that you all couldn't make it.
And once again, Thanks to the attendees for taking part in the raffle, even if you didn't win anything. Your money goes back to LO in the form of the next painting contest, so be sure to keep your eyes open for the information on it in the next few weeks.

Wooooooooo!!! Fun was had by all!!!!

Wait.. that's the end line. Damn it. Anyways..

We all had great fun, Karantal... Karrot Cake, had many fun stories. Many about walking down main roads in Liverpool armed with full swords and axes and walking past the police. O____o And his TRUE dwarf mate (big beard, lots of armour, short, has an axe as big as him and scares the crap out of all people), oh and CC told a story about a dead woman staring at him. XD

The gaming was great, my game vs CC was amazing. I've now seen the firepower of a devy squad (2 HBs, 1 ML, 1 LC, 2 Bolters) and a Dread (Assault Cannon, Storm bolter) reduce a 20+ ork squad too a single nob in one round of shooting. O____o

The Dark Eldar are bastards. Big, Bad bastards. I will win next time!!! Maybe. But that was a great game too, I managed to kill more DE than Kanpe's Tau did. :lol: Then into the bar, both day's I must have seen like an alkie, as I was the only one with a alcoholic drink. I drank BUGMAN'S GUD'ELF!!! YAY!!!! WOOO!!!!

Then pizza hut, ballons and stories beginning with 'And I went to the toilet...' XD Then pub for more drink, and perverse acts with the undead. Not just sex with them, but perverse sex.. we figured that they screw you. :huh:

Oh and the gazeebo scene.. "IT'S A ****ING GAZZEBO!!!!!!1111" XD

Then back to Toastees room to see if we can float a Gun Drone with eight ballons, it never did but the Shield Drones do. A new way to deep strike. And the orgasims... soooo wrong. But funny.

Oh and other highlights were drooling over the gallery at GW, the booze, seeing people, chatting and getting odd stares because we were walking about with a 20+ yr old with ballons tied to him.


Toast - The FB games was Dwarfs and Beasts for Morden and Ark.

It was a shame our big battle didn't work out, but then with one end of the table in combat in turn 3 the middle in magic and the end in shooting - it lacked disapline. Even if my IBs did run down a beast herd with two heros after the thane *****slapped the Wargor in a challenge... RUN DOWN BY DWARFS!!!!!

Theres nothing wrong with balloons, there manly. Now I really feel I should point out that disembowling chickens and going to the toilet are not the only things I talk about. I also like to ecstole the fantastic dark eldar warrior, best troop choice in the game!

Was a really good weekend all in all, was impressed with everyones painting, especially Knapes as it meant mine was only joint worst!

KUF Your power armoured pansies will never be able to defeat the might of the dark kin, especially not the ones that got captured and dragged off, although I think my Kabal might be running out of room in the prison an entire Tau army takes up alot of space.

Bah!! I'll just have to bring more stuff next time. Maybe a whirlwind and lots of HB armed Devies. *Evil Grin* But it was fun, and I can say I did better than Knape. So that's always good. XD But yes, a rematch will be needed I think. Each year til I win.

Hah. I would have joined you had it not been for Ryanair and their sudden priceraise during the meet weekend. For some reason the tickers where almost tripple the usual price...

Anyways, I wish I could have come and had my Guardsmen massacred, but I just didn't have the money. I spent to much on expanding my army... again. (Bought the remains of Knape's army. So now I'm stuck with 98 guardsmen to paint. *Groan*) I did get 10 done and another 10 ready for highlighting while you where having your fun. :p

I'll try and make it to the next meet and I promise to bring ALOT of lasguns for you to shrug off.

For anyone reading this I have one piece of advice and if you value your sanity you will take heed.

NEVER NEVER LISTEN TO TOASTEE'S ALARM

Its hard to describe, but its like getting woken up with a kick in the family jewels. ;0

Apart from the alarm it was an amazing weekend its a pity my orks were on the end of some fairly solid beatings. Just not enough cover to hid behind . Even though my Big Mek with KFF did annoy some marines who happened to bring lascannons to the meet.

I am already looking forward to next year.
