How did you get your login name?

I often read the names people give themselves and try to guess what it means or what inspired them to choose it. Some, like Lamenter, are obvious, that is the name of his chapter. Others are more enigmatic, and it might be entertaining if some people shared theirs. I think it can give some more insight to our fellow community members...

I will start with mine. It is fairly straight-forward and most people probably think there is no need to explain it, but I will. Before I started playing 40K many of my friends played it for years. I always ran away quickly when they talked about it because the models are un-godly expensive. Anyway, my good friend (who is a store owner) kept telling me about space marines and he always shouted the phrase "For the Emperor!" Eventually I succumbed to his efforts and bought the Battle for Macragge, and then Dawn of War. Imagine my thrill when I heard the Space Marines in the game yell, "For the Emperor!" I LOVED it. So of course it was an obvious choice for me.

Over the summer I went to GENCON Indy where I met Dan Abner (author and Gaunt's Ghosts, Ravenor, and one of the Horus Heresy books) and when he autographed my book I asked him to write "For the Emperor!" which thrilled me to no end...

When I made my name I was into the inquisition, and reading the book Eisenhorn. This made me want to make my user name 'Inquisitor' Hause.

UnderDarkLord hmm.... I like the Angels of Death, especially DA but couldn't think of any good Angel name. I ended up with a chapter called Angels of the UnderDark, thanks amazingly to a D&D reference dropped randomly by a friend. My chapter hasn't lost since their new name, ten games and counting. If you are on any other site and see an UnderDarkLord then it is probably me since I have never encountered anyone else using it before.

Well, I have the name SWAT by my friends because of airsoft. I was the one who'd go decked out with high end stuff in full SWAT gear, hence the name. After my friend dropped my gun in a river, I havnt been airsofting in a while. Also, I try to use SWAT tactics when ever I can. Both 7 and 2 are my lucky numbers so those were obvious.

I hate my name and I wish I could change it but I don't want to loose my stats. Its so unoriginal and really doesn't say anything about me besides the fact I like the Blood Angels. Which is why I always end all my posts with "Krevzi" becuase thats what I wish my name was becuase its my nickname. Thats my story, I'll go back to my corner now.....

Not really Space Marine oriented, and not really worthy of having it count for your posts... so, off to the Off Topic forum. ^_^

As for my own name, it was originally my intended name for a Dark Eldar Kabal, then sort of just drifted from there into.. well, whatever it is now.

Blood_angelmarine, there is a thread where you can request to have your name changed by the mods. I'll come back and post the link when I find it.
Otherwise, just PM a mod and ask them very nicely to change your name,
put your current handle(obviously) and put down what you want it to be.

The admins and other super mods who are doing that won't change the name - they are only doing it to correct mistakes when joining, or if you have another very good reason, and they won't change a name you've had for a very long time (as you are known by that name). Hard Aun posted this in that thread.

True, but I'm sure if you were very polite, and nice and explained that you really hate your username(and only if you do) I think he would change it, be careful though, if you do this just because you've "gotten tired of it" then just don't do it.

My name was originally Dark_Angels_Master, but I decided to expand my horizons, I started to play eldar.

My current name was a goof, a buddy wanted to call me "MalarchSeraph," I don't know what it means. But he said "MalSeraph" and I thought it was catchy. I kept it, and then I tossed "Adrian" in front because it sounded cool and gothic-like.
