In october 2003 I first started with WFB.
I started with orc and goblins.
Everytime I enter the store I want to buy something (I not allways have the money )
Now that I have seen allot of different armies I started to buy high elves, but I only had 4 orc and goblin regiments.
I've been looking around and I notist the chaos space marines (that I want to start with).
It's very difficult for me to hold back on buying more and more and more.....
If I go on with this I will have allot of unpainted units.
How do you deal wih the temptation?
Well, my approach is brutally simple - if impractical. I don't actually go into the store all that much - I simply hand one of my friends a list, give him the money, then set about hiding all his things around the apartment for when he gets back.
Although recently I discovered mail-order...
I cant fight the temptation. Currently I'm spending more on GW than I earn
I live in your eyes
Only go to the shop when you don't have much money. Never on any circumstances go in the shop after being paid.
Don't worry about having loads of minis to paint. I would say most people who have beening playing this game for any length of time will have a good few minis just sitting around with no paint or just an undercoat. As long you don't fall into the trap of playing with unpainted mini's. It is a proven scientific fact that painted mini's do better in games than unpainted ones.

I tend to only buy stuff once I've painted over 90% of the stuff I already have. And since my last spending spree, I now have lots more to paint =O_O=
But I know the only things I'll be buying from GW for the next couple of months are books, WD and Warhammer Monthly

It's willpower. I know that sounds simple and basic, and it's hard, but if you're like me, a college student with a low income job, and other finances to pay for, then it's not too hard. Just content yourself with what you've got, and look and save for the best deals. Right now, I really wanna go spend all the money I have saved up on some Warhammer 40k, but if I do, I won't have anything left and then I'll be screwed for next year. Just limit how much you buy. It's not too tough if you can control it .And I agree, I have a lot of unpainted unprimed stuff, and part of my deal is that I want to get most of it painted before I go out and buy more.tend to only buy stuff once I've painted over 90% of the stuff I already have
"Can you put that in a memo and title it '***** I already know!'"
Church: "Ok, so we're agreed? You first!"
Sarge: "Get on with it, Griff."
Griff: "I'd just like everyone to know: that I suck."
Griff: "And that I'm a girl..."
Church: "What else?"
Griff: "And I like ribbons in my hair, and I want to kiss all the boys."
Sarge: "This has to be the best surrender of all time."
Know this problem... I have loads of unpainted minis at home... I've also decided not to buy more until they are painted but I know that I won't be able to control myself, even though I too am a university student in poverty, so what's the point...? <_<
I don't even try to stop. Everytime I go into a store, I buy something. I have so many armies started right now, I'll never get them all painted. But that doesn't stop me from getting more
I have collected 850 point worth of orcs and goblins, and two regiments of high elves (silver helms, archers).
I have painted 1 goblin regiment, half a orc regiment, half a wolf rider regiment(only the wolfs) and 3 single models.
With the high elves i have only painted 1 silver helm and my archers arn't assembled yet.
And I allready want to start on chaos space marine.
I don't earn very much (I'm only 16), but from what I earn half is going on my saving account and the other half I spent on warhammer.
(I know, I don't have a life....)
it took me a while, but I only go to the store when I am out of unpainted mini's. I rarely deploy unpainted mini's. Think about the money too. It is much better to have your money in a banking account compiling interest, than to have an un-painted miniature on a shelf some where compiling dust.
