other (please state)
First off. My first poll!! 8X
This is just a curious thread about what most people play during friendly games. I would just like to know others opinions on how big a game they like. Also please state the reason why you play at any given points level. such as army is easier to carry or I just like more models on the battlefield.
With friends I usually play 1000, but sometimes 1500 and an occasional big 2000 point battle.
I like it at this size so that there are enough points to take all your wants without having to compromise from the needs. It also fits nicely into a 4X6 foot space where you can make range and manoeuverability matter.

As much as I enjoy playing 1500+ games, I rarely get a chance to - what with work, and other problems (such as space).
More often than not, I tend to play a fair amount of games in-store, and these are generally around the 750 point mark. Not really enough to make the game epic in any sense of the word, but you can get a couple of units down on the table for a quick game.
This wont be a problem for much longer though! (Just aquired myself an awesome 6.5 by 4.5 foot board).

Also, you should google "garfield minus garfield". Awesome.
thousand, i don't have any larger armies
Got a "good" rumour from a GW staffer? Forget about it, LO'ers know more than any random GW shop staffer.

The Dutch Legion
When I play my mates we will usually play 1500 if we have an evening, or 2000 if we have most of the day. Occasionally we play up to 3000. Though with the coming of the Apocalypse I should think a few Megabattles will take place :-D
There has been the odd game of 1000 or 1750, or even combat patrol if the mood takes us, but 80% of games will be 1500 or 2000 points.
We use MDF on our kitchen tables so we have 4x4' and 6x4' availabe but two of us have a 4x2' offcut as well so we can make a nice big 8x4' board for Apoc. if necessary.
In play in between 1500 and 2000, nice sizes for games, i will soon however be moveing up to apocalypse size, the baneblade is allready waiting.

Yeah, the Baneblade is a great motivator. I will soon be sending out challenges for the first person to face its wrath! Possibly for just a 2500 pts game with just the Baneblade added rather than a full Apocalypse game though.
I prefer to play at 1500pts but my depending on where I am I also play 1000 and 2000 point games.
