    Cruising with Mini's

Okay, this may very well be the oddest question...

... Has anyone ever taken a cruise and took miniatures along?

My boyfriend and I will be cruising in Feb and want to take our minis for some fun while we have days at sea. I was wondering if customs or security gave you a hard time. Thanks a ton!

There should not be a problem with that. They aren't the kind of thing that customs looks for (contraband, valuables), coming into a country. Enjoy!

Well, I shipped some ebay goods to Canada, and customs evidently tore through the box. But I can't imagine a ship wanting to go through them. Are you traveling by plane at all? Sending small, metallic objects through an airport x-ray machine might raise some eyebrows.

Nope, we will travel there by car. The only item I can see getting questioned is my Monolith.

Even if not questioned keep em with you as much as possible. They don't handle luggage with any resemblance of caring.

What country are you in? I used to work security for cruise ships in the Uk (and none I watched over were ever stolen). I'd recommend packing them in your 'carry-on' rather than checked luggage, mostly due to fragility. Don't back them too deep, though' because the metal bits will show up on the x-ray machines like nothing else and they will want to see what it is.

    Have fun!
No more NG spearmen, thanks! Now I need some pump-wagons!

I take them to work everyday, and I have to process them through an x-ray. The poor guys would probably have cancer by now if they were alive.

I live in the US and plan on carrying them onboard the ship. We will take our transport cases for easy access. I am glad to hear you all say it should not be a problem. I thought it could definately be a fun way to pass a few afternoons.

Dudet! That sounds great! Have your necrons enjoy some fun in the sun while spalshing gauss waves at thier enemies?? Totally cool. I bought my first 40k while in florida after 9/11 in the U.S. The airport opened my carrying case to check out what they were, but they didnt take em away, so it should be good!
