Hey there, i thought id start this topic, beacuse of an event last night.
while i was playing 40k with my brother, i had a tactical sqd assault a falcon, in the hope of useing their krak grenades to do some damage, as i said, "ok, they are going to grenade it" my Fiancee turned, looked over, then said "how is he supposed to grenade it? hes plasitc isnt he?"
at first i thought she was having a laugh, but then, i realised she was acctuly serious!!!!
so!!! does anyone else have a non gamer partner or even parent etc who has come out with something like that?!
PROUD TO BE IN THE BRITISH ARMY.

My wife tolerates my hobbies with good humor, but doesn't want to be involved. I think its good to have some hobbies and interests that don't intersect, and that you can do on your own. Wish I had a funny story though.
While my girlfriend doesn't play, she fully supports all my geeky hobbies (roleplaying, wargaming, etc) and even likes me to tell her about it. Then we watch anime together, and she's a model. Yeah....I feel pretty lucky8Y
My other half has said a few things in the past like that, but I just find it funny, plus we share the same views on some things(people who take the game toooo seriously) but still. there was one thing she said once which left me speechless "Warhammer fantasy, Warhammer 40,000, they all look the same" She said it so seriously I couldn't help laughing! but thn i got ignored...
My girlfriend (who's a professional chef, yum yum), takes it with good humor, and occassionally makes "Star Trek" jokes because that's what she calls everything "Sci-Fi" related (as a joke). But I make jokes about her stuff too. It's all in good fun. She's also artistically inclined so she does appreciate the modelling/painting process.
The difference between Blood angels and Dark angels - Ones red and the other green and wears a skirt. Her words not mine. . . nearly died when she said it!!
98% of the teen population has smoked weed, if you are the 2% that hasn't, and blindly believe everything you read on the net, then put this in your signature.
PS - i AM the Green Lantern
Though my wife will never play a MMO or tabletop game with me, she makes an effort to show interest in the things I do because, as she's explained, she like to hear me talk about the things I like to do (I can become very animated).

My girlfriend declares on a regular basis that my car should be able to go faster on the freeway because its painted red. Enough said.

WINDMILLS DO NOT WORK THAT WAY!
My wife rolled her eyes when I told her that I was bringing my 40k army back to Maryland with me from home (California). Warhammer was something I was in to in High school, but she was never exposed to it until now (after being married two years...nice buffer!). So at first, she rolled her eyes, but now she seems interested in it. She too enjoys painting, so she can enjoy the art aspect of this. She even gives me tips on my paint jobs. She has yet to see me play though, and would probably prefer to be elsewhere... Otherwise, she's pretty cool that I'd rather spend money on an army addition than save towards a down payment on a house.
