Fantasy battle. Death by steel = pwnzers.
So, I'm just curious as to where you guys started off. I'm seeing a lot more players interested in 40k than in fantasy, but in a lot of signatures I'm seeing both 40k and WHFB. So I'm just curious as to what took your fancy first. =)

1993 with Chaos Dwarfs. If you wanted cheesy powermongering, 4th ed was your game.
7th ed powergamers are merely cheap imitations .
Having an army and not owning a rulebook is like owning a car with no steering wheel.Originally Posted by amishcellphone

I got some marines to paint waay back. Then I got my Eldar, dropped the hobby for 5 years and started it again with my Eldar.
Somewhere around 1990, with SPACEHULK!! One of the coolest games GW ever released. First major appearance of both Terminators and Genestealers. Awesome.
No more NG spearmen, thanks! Now I need some pump-wagons!
I started playing in 1998 with WHFB, Chaos (Bloodthirster was my first model and by far the coolest character to me still). The my friends and I started playing Mordeim, which is also a REALLY fun game!!!! (Skaven was my war band of choice). Then we got into 40K I started with Eldar then got some Marines from a friend. In 2002 I took a break from all the games, and 2006 I picked it back up and I am now into more then ever!!!!
