Don't know if this is a temporary (or maybe personal) issue, but I can not see any components for any miniature on GW.uk's online webstore, and all the components which I had saved in my cart are gone aswell, is this just me making some big mistake or? hope I am
now I realize that some miniatures are completely gone (specifically, WE wardancers) from their range aswell what the ****
Dont tell me they've done some stupid update
Here - this sums up the reasons : RelicNews Forums - GW online store (UK and Germ.)
its a steamlineing of their production methods - basically no bits - though there are rumors that they are going to make thier own bits collections.
Wow, I'm really glad I built my INQ army over the last couple of years instead of just starting out now. I probably spent about $400 on the online store with a good amount of that on bits and models from the Necromunda range. In the inquisition armies really call out for individualism and conversions.
GW annoucned back in September (ish) that the online store would be restructured, so the bits and components will not be avaible for some time.
Yep I rang mail order the other day and the databases they work from seem to be down at present, I was after Steel Legion Sentinel tops they had to go to some other list to see if they were in stock. Incidentely at the back of the 2008 catalogue there are some of the new bits packs.
Bits is a really ineffcient busines model for a company like Games Workshop. The company is having it tough at the moment so I am not surprised to see this sort of change taking place. Think about it. Would you like to pay mail order trolls to pick up a box or two worth £20 of profit to the company or would you like them to spend the same amount of time making £0.04?
Of course to the hobbyist it is absolutely devastating.
This may be a small problem.
They have stated that it is only temporary, while they restructure the online shop. but with GW, you never know... (check my Black Industries thread for that...).
help!!!!!! I can't get my Blood Angels shoulder pads. I was looking forward to those. I know they said they were reducing the collectors range but not as much as it has been. Some of the stuff is still in the 2008 , yes 2008 catalogue that has been removed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Do you think if I phone up Games Workshop and beg they might find some lying around some where ;o .
I'm sure I've read tho that they are just re-doing it and only removing the older stuff. Scrap Chaos Dwarfs not my stuff ;Y only kidding.
I've just been on the phone to GW direct and the guy on the other end was incredibly helpful. The amount of business they get from individual components is minimal and there was no money in it. Now what they are doing is order numbers for individual blisters. Where it used to be random, you can now order, lets say, Commisar with power fist with X or a commisar with bolt pistol with Y.
Same goes for things like shoulder pads. Rather then spending 10P on one shoulder pad, they're now selling them in packs of 5. Some with things like Iron Warrior torsos etc.
