I used to know the scale of the Warhammer models, but I managed to forget (Shame...). I just want to know so I can convert a modern tank hobby model (e.g. Challanger 2) to a Leman Russ equivalent. Also I would like to know your opinions on a modern tank converted into Leman Russ equivalent.
That's all, thanks.
i believe it's around 1:48 / 1:64. But scales vary, the best way is to measure a leman russ in length and buy a model which is roughly the same length as the leman russ.
But, as stated, measure and perhaps even take a leman russ or chimera into the store so you don't end up with a model completly wrong the wrong scale!
Some figures for you:
30mm figures are 1/48 - 1/50 scale
28mm figures are 1/54 - 1/56
25mm figures are 1/60 - 1/62
But, take a vechile with you. 40K is notorious for under sized vechiles.
Think about it - 10 men with full battle kit and armour + 2 crew into a Rhino??? That's a REAL friendly transport system.
As has been stated 1:48 is about right, but ive also found some 1:35 scale models fit well, it depends on what the model is of! a Tiger tank or something similarly sized, for example, might look too big at this larger scale

The tricky thing about cramming ten marines into a rhino, is that they have hard armour. You just can't squeeze them together...
And about the Challenger/Russ - I don't like such conversions. It just won't look like a Russ, but a undercover Challenger... Sorry mate!
