i know this is a wierd request, but i am looking at starting my own independant stockist soon.
To begin with, i intend to just use a website and do a 10% off and free UK postage (and some sort of reward scheme for forums like this). I will take the orders from customers, then get the items off Gw, and dispatch them to my customers. This will reduce the storage costs i have, allowing me to offer the discount.
However, this method means that i dont have the stock to photograph to put the pictures on the website for my online catalogue.
Is there any chance some people here can take some photos of their miniatures that i can use in the catalogue?
Thanks for your time,
Ps: If this is in the wrong forum, i apologise, i was unsure where to post it
Shouldn't the wholesaler have pictures available?
Up, up and away!
And since you will be selling bits you have to photo individual bits... not models!
Thanks to all the people showing faith in me
I sometimes feel that everyone will leave me and they will be on their own...
to answer both questions:
1) GW dont let you use their photos, they say you have to have your own.
2) I would be selling the models, it is the same as with Gw, they show fully painted models in their catalogues but they say "all models are provided unpainted and unassembled"
This might be breaking their IP agreement for web sales... From my understanding you can't display pictures of their product period. Also most places I know of don't even sell online anymore but rely on an 1-800 number for internet customers.

As far as i know (and i've read the IP rules) thereis nothing stopping me posting my own photos as long as i credit GW with the designing and production of the models, but just incase, i have emailed their legal team to double check.
There are still people that use their photos on their online stores, so i cant see it being a problem.
The legal team failed to get back to me, but i have reread all of the trade agreements and terms and conditions as well as all of theintellctual property rights and there is absolutly nothing to even suggest that i cant run an online store with GW items.
There was even one comment of "your store (brickwork or online) will......" so it seems that they took those regulations away a while ago.
So im still looking for photos, any would be appreciated
so far i have some necron photos, and that is it.
To clear up a question that arose in LO chat, i am happy to just use pictures of the boxes the models come in, if that is easier for people.
i might also post in the army forums with specific lists of waht i need from each army soon, as that may generate more usefulness.
Just going to move this to GD.

Thanks toastee. I was unsure where to put it, but Blackhat has agreed to help where possible, so i didnt think painting would've been a problem.
