Just asking, where can one find rankings (ie top 5 participants), for significant/major tournaments for 40k, ie their respective army lists as well.
I'm not sure about GT's that are held in other countries, though I would assume it would be the same, but the UK GT normally has the rankings on the GW websites GT pages as a downloadable PDF. I'm not sure if they supply army lists though.
I recall seeing some army lists of the top ranked US toruney winners before though. IIRC they were on the US GW site somewhere.
I actually think it would be a good thing if the lists weren't put up on the net
Back when I used to plat MTG, at any one time the environment consisted of about 4 or 5 tier 1 decks - people simply used to log on to the PT website and copy the top 8 decks from event. There were variations of course, but they never differed by more than 10% I would say.
I believe the game is simply now nothing more than a rare hunt, and he who has the most gold wins.
Sorry for that little rant, it's not really relevant I know, but I was just using it as a point as to why I think that GT armies shouldn't be common knowledge (not that I'm insinuating that you would copy them youself )
The agenda is identify the "top ranking" armies, and "know thou enemy"
Mostly Chaos and Space Marines to be honest, with a bit of Eldar mixed in.
Other armies get into the top tables too, but no where near the amount that those three get into them.
Or at least that what it was about a year or so ago. I doubt its changed much.
