Hi my local library is about to start to stock warhammer based novels and asked me what some of the best ones out there. As I have never read any I thought I would ask you guys so if you read warhammer novels either 40k or fantasy could you please say what your three or four favourite ones are. Thank in advance
P.S. if I have posted in the wrong place sorry. Also sorry if this topic has already been covered
I would Reccomend 2 series:
+ The Horus Heresy (Horus Rising, Galaxy in Flames, False Gods, Flight of the Eisenstein, Fulgrim, etc.)
+ Gaunt's Ghosts
So... if I gave some daemons a matte paint-job, would they be "Matte Daemons?"
Necron Tactica: Flying Circus
I've particularly enjoyed the Horus Heresy series (at least the first three; I've heard the latter ones aren't excellent)... however, Eisenhorn is by far the best Black Library has to offer. Ravenor also, but Eisenhorn is the best.
Gloria Imperator, The Firstborn Stand!
- 2000pts Inquisition, 2000pts Vostroyans, 3000pts Vampire Counts, 1400pts Daemons, [WIP] 2500pts Death Guard
Definetly go with Eisenhorn and Ravenor! Some of my favorites right there. I have liked the Horus Heresy though some of them were kinda meh. I have not read any of Gaunts Ghosts though they are next on my list.
So there I was...
Buying things after alcohol consumption is a very interesting way to get into the hobby!
Guant's Ghosts is a good series, as well as Cyfus Cain (sp?).
Eiesenhorn is really the best overall if you want dark gothic sci-fi. You won't get as many of the epic battles as you would in other books (but don't worry, there are still plenty), but you'll explore the imperium in a way you never have.
I would not recommend the Space Wolf novels. I thought they were poorly written and sometimes just silly. (Maybe the later ones are better.)
Storm of Iron is solid gold if your into csm especially the IW
Space wolf series(Space wolf, Ragnars claw, Wolfblade, Greyhunter, and the other two i cant remember)
they are really good along with the "Slayer" series
Trollslayer, skavenslayer, demon slayer, vampireslayer. something like that
Yes people i know that my spelling and punctuation is awful but I am product of British teaching pollicies so what can I do about it?
No other BL book comes close to Eisenhorn. It is of such awesomeness it ain't funny.
Fifteen Hours is very cool, too.
