I've been playing eldar for years and years. I begun fantasy a few years ago but never got into it, in the past 5 months I've been playing a lot of fantasy and i've begun to see why its a better idea.
In a 40k game, I recently had a problem with a few older players seem to get very competative, annoyed at me winning, even if they have a cleary unbalance list and call my army unfair for using just wraithlords, they spend the whole gamings shooting them, only kill one and complain that the rest of my army is alive because they've focused on the wraithlords. Another guy comes up to me ever time i play and says 2 wraithlords and says cheesy ever time. Its ridiculous, so one wraithlord isn't cheesy because any Imperial army can take it down in one turn with a few lascannons, great. I don't see why i can't just play with a list i can rely on along with my good genereal knowledge of 40k armies. I don't find any problems with younger players, they seem to enjoy 40k a lot more than the older players, they just seem to have a better attitude of; ok i will change my list put more heavy weapons in, where as the older players seem more stubborn, thinking it can't be his fault he lost. I think this game is about more about knowledge, if you don't know anything about the enemy its not a great start at all.
Now, in fantasy I've been playing Vampire Counts since the new codex and have really enjoyed it. I find it much more enjoyable for both players, since its more about tactics and theres more ways to win, due to either outwitting, out manouvering, setting traps, combat res, magic banners, magic items, sneaky plans etc. Just love the way how things appear great, like treemen, giants, varghulfs but you can't just charge them in, you have to think about it. Every game i look forward to magic phases, just getting one spell off is so cool.
To be fair, you're hating the player, not the game.
Fantasy has it's share of knobheads as well, don't be fooled. Is there a chance you could take your Eldar army to a different club locally? Or simply play different people?
Wraithlords are tough buggers, have you suggested that they bring a force weapon or two? Sometimes educating your opponents will make your own games tougher and more enjoyable.
I'm glad you're having fun playing fantasy though; enjoying this hobby is the most important thing!
what am I, the pope?
I play both games as I enjoy the difference between the two systems.
In our area most of the WHFB players are older and more mature, as a general rule and we tend to have problems with the younger 40K players who don't read the rulebook properly and insist that every move is accompanied by a page reference.
Eidt: I don't understand why people would cry foul over two wraithlords. Wait till they play a nidzilla list and watch them combust.

The "A Smart Player Will..." theory is a complete paradox. If we make an assumption that everything we do is outsmarted, then theoretically we can never win.
That seems very odd that its the older players being D-bags, not to mention calling Wraithlords cheese.
In my gaming group, we're getting fed up with one of the youngest guys. I've tried to steer him right, but he still insists on bad lists, bad tactics, and treating you like your every move is some sort of attempt at cheating. Further frustrating, it would be awkward to ostracize him since his dad is one of the cooler older guys. Oh well, what can ya do...

Those kind of attitudes are one of the reasons my hobbyism is mainly restricted to painting and collecting, I cant be bothered dealing with some people anti-social attitudes just for the sake of a game.
Thats the reason I was very pleased to find that all the LO members at last years LO meet were nice well-adjusted (well kind of..) individuals who play for fun and who its a pleasure to play against.
But I agree its more down to the individual players rather than the game systems, I personally have also always prefered WHFB though (although I do like 40k too)
