Hello fellow gamers!
I was sitting here the other day, trying to find out why I was more attracted to LO than any other wargaming forums, and I came up with this:
@LO is brighter and seems to be more jolly than other sites
@LO don't have as many users as for example warseer, something that makes almost everyone know everyone
@LO has very few spammers and people who don't want their fellow members any good
@The rep system keeps people happy and make people know where to ask if there isn't any mod in sight
@Even though the site is experiencing downtime and trouble, we can everyone be sure that it won't be long till it's up again
Thanks to everyone who is working on this site to make it the best place ever!:drinking:
Know, I want to hear why YOU like LO so much, so fire away!

Well I guess Warseer is a good place to be if you intend to lower your IQ by about 30 and run around to every other forum broadcasting your "inside sources to ZOMG EVERYTHING IS GETTING NERFED."
I guess I could dig up a few reasons but I really only need one: the people here. There are so many absolutley amazing users on LO and that is why I keep coming back. I'm on my third year here and if it keeps being like this I can tell you that I'm coming back for three more.
i like and frequent LO mostly because of the many amazing people using it and the great chat.

I cannot leave. I am one with the forum.
Its a good place, and I enjoy the people I meet on it. I especially enjoy running the UK Meet Up and actually getting to put faces to names. I've always liked posting and modding here.
On a side note, while these types of posts are nice and welcome, please leave any forum bashing at the door.
I was at Eldar Online for a long time, then they started some move to another site and the forum was down for a while. So I searched around and found LO, then I started posting here.
I'm still searching for a decent Warhammer site that doesn't go down every couple of days. I mean... LO is great and all but it seems like there is more down time than active time, at least when I try and get on. But here... well I already have been here, I have over a thousand posts, I've posted some useful advice and even have a title (though I'm not sure if it's a good thing, but it does feel spiffy). So.. you know... I just kinda wish LO didn't go down so darn much.

*Beats DMC with mod stick* o_o See...not bad at all. *Innocent :3*

Honestly I don't mind the downtime that much. I remember the days of the daily database errors and the fact that we are rid of them is so thankfull... Also I know Blackie and the crew will get LO up again soon so I don't worry.
SORRY TOASTEE, I WROTE THIS RANT BEFORE YOU MENTIONED NO OTHER FORUM BASHING

I'll tell you exactly why I keep on with LO.
When LO was down recently I started randomly going to other sites and whatnot to get my "fix". When I was on one of these sites I saw a thread titled "How Do TK Kill Greater Daemons?" where a TK player was asking for advice on how to best deal with a Greater Daemon his friend had used to beat him. As a person who plays both TK and the new Daemons this interested me so i read the thread. It was four pages long and to save time I will just highlight the stupidity, ignorance and flaming that I read.
The most facinating post had to be by an individual I can only describe as a "lacking in mental process". He/She/It was the third post and their suggestion was that there was no way for Tk to kill a greater daemon and since Tk were now "outclassed" by all the new armies there was no point in playing them at all untill they were updated. His advice was to shelve the army till the TK got updated. This is just the gist of what he said of course...there was a lot of moaning and whinning about power creep and how the new armies made all the unupdated armies "worthless" to play.
When I read this my mind went blank. I mean TK's can still be one of the most competitive/tough armies out there when lead well and at over 2K points....and then I thought "oh man, somebody is gonna come and slap this guy down for such idiotic/unhelpfull advice" It never happened, not one person after that set this guy straight, no mod came either....and worst of all the TK player actually thought the advice had merit. As I read further in the thread I found it was par for the course.
The next post was actually decent in that the player suggested that against a Greater Daemon led army, TK's would be best served by playing towards points denial...i.e. tarpiting the Daemon in Skeletons that could be reraised rather than trying to kill it. I thought this excellent advice...but Mr. lacking-In-Mental-Process came back and slamed this guy, saying that his advice was a "defeatist" was of thinking/playing.... This was the guy who suggested the OP quit playing the army all together calling someone who offered constructive advice defeatist. The irony/stupidity of it left me with a cold feeling. Again I thought someone would come in and say something as the guy had just flammed a helpful post...but no, it was not to be. What I've described pretty much set the tone for the rest of the thread...ALL FOUR PAGES.
In the remaining pages there were countless flame posts...three seperate and unrelated side arguments, and advice from people who I don't think had ever read the TK army book let alone the Rule book. I haven't read my TK army book or played with the army in a year and I still found blatantly wrong or illegal advice...worst of all was that not once did anyone step in and correct any of the errors or illegal advice...NOT ONCE IN FOUR PAGES OF ERRORS!!!
God knows that I make all kinds of errors on rules, but everytime I make an error on LO somebody steps in and corrects me...without flaming. After reading the whole thread...and yes I did read it all, it was kind of like driving by a car crash, you have to slow down to look...I was struck by the thought that people would have been booted from LO for half of the things that were said. LO may have a smaller user base than the other sites, but by comparison each and every LO user is a consumate professional, offering only helpful advice and stopping flaming before it even starts. THANK YOU LO!!!!!

The only honorable options left to we combatants is seppuku or semantics...which amount to the same thing really.
