My friends told me to.( I am a lemming)
I thought it looked cool. (I have no taste.)
The fluff attracted me. (Like a cockroach to the dung.)
The possibility to do neat conversions.(And glue my fingers together.)
As few models as possible.(I hate to paint.)
As many models as possible.(I really really hate to paint, but I am a masachist.)
It was all my store had. ( I live in Siberia)
I had a great idea for a theme. (I have too much time on my hands.)
My mother told me what to play. (ummm...thats just sad.)
It was given to me by my friend. (Because I am poor.)
Just wondering on how people decided to buy the army that they are currently playing.
Just to get the ball rolling I chose my Tau based on how they looked. I really liked the sleek design and anime style that they represented.
help your poll here...
i picked the Chaos Space Marines after some careful consideration. i looked through all the codexes.
Space Marines : too goody two shoes
Imperial Guard: kind of expensive
Orks: too colorful and bright and fast and happy(hyper)
Necrons: the idea of a rewakened race is cool, but the army selection is kind of low
Tau: they are lke proper. they dont even have a dark and evil history
Chaos Space Marines: I liked the dark dark background. the idea of starting as just a small Space Marine praying to the chaos gods and becoming a huge huge chaos lord taking entire sectors for himself and massacring on a hundred-billions scale was just to great for me. the idea of mutilation and death and slavery was just too great. the entire codex has many twisted, creepy pictures and i was fascinated me. i thought the darkness and violence of the Chaos Space Marines was very deep and devoted. and to this day i have respected the chaos gods whether through nurgle, khorne, slaanesh, or tzeentch. DOWN WITH THE WEAKLING HUMAN EMPEROR!
i will keep an eye on this thread. i thought the overall idea of this was great. good job ShaselMudd.
think I already answered this question..i based meh army off'a the Flesh Tearers because I like the thought of refined and civilised human beings (Blood Angels )becoming horrifying flesh eating monsters on the battlefield (Flesh Tearers),not literaly of course
I just thought the Dark Elf models looked cool, so i started collecting them.
chaos space marines mostly because i did not want to have an army full of shitty saves, secondly because i thought my friend was going to play IG, so bolters own them, but then he played space wolves, so that threw my plan off but it's still good, still have yet to play him

The Space wolves looked cool, so I started to buy them. Luclky I have good intuition because they have been the best army I have ever had, and all that on looks.
The IG on the other hand are a different story. I think they peeked my interest when I had gone against 90+ guardsmen. Wall after wall of meat my blood claws went against, and they were turned to dust with those rinky-dinky flashlights they carry. And lets not forget those tanks. God I love those tanks.
If Wolves were meant to fly, wouldn’t the Emperor have given them wings?
yeah i chose my spacew wolfies cuz the fluff kicked ass. i love vikings, and vikings in space=even better!
my iron warriors were chosen cuz of good paint scheme and big guns...
i chose the guard cuz of lots of "flashlights" and tanks
The very nature of firearms anywhere and everywhere restrains evil interference - they deserve a place of honor with all that is good. They are the American people's liberty teeth and keystone under independence."

I just looked at the GW website for ages and thought "Chaos Space Marines are by far the coolest." Since then I've never been able to play something that isn't Chaos-based 'cuz I'm always thinking oooh, nice stats on that Russ/Trukk/Wulfen/etc and then lose interest before I buy any models. Turned uot great, actually, 'cuz I love the huge variety available in a Chaos army.
