one of my friends would like to request a 1000, 1500 and 2000 point Wood elf lists all based on each other. he prefers elves rather than a twig army. so not too many dryads etc, but he would like it balanced. he likes way watchers and wardancers, try, if you can to squeeze them in. he likes all of the units bar warhalk riders and eagles. any type of force is fine thanks alot in advance rag doll Last edited by rag doll; August 19th, 2008 at 10:37.. |

Zssmart, here are your Dwarves. Their coming was slow and implacable, as ever, but now that I've gotten their book, I suppose I can start kicking around a few lists. So... Lords: Dwarf Lord w/ Oathstone, Shield, Rune of Stone x3, Rune of Swiftness, Rune of Cleaving x2 95rune @ 273 Heroes: Dwarf Thane w/ Oath Stone, Strollaz Rune, Master Rune of Stromni Redbeard @ 265 Dwarf Runesmith w/ Master Rune of Balance, Rune of Resistance, Shield @ 147 Core: 14 LongBeards w/ Shields, standard bearer @ 178 14 LongBeards w/ Shields, standard bearer @ 178 20 Warriors w/ shields, standard bearer @ 190 20 Warriors w/ shields, standard bearer @ 190 Special: 19 Ironbreakers w/ standard bearer, Rune of Battle, Rune of Sanctuary @ 299 12 Miners w/ standard bearer @ 142 Cannon @ 90 Bolt Thrower @ 45 1,9997/2,000 So, I know that that seems like limited numbers of shooting. What you really have in an army intended to start racing across the field. With an extra move, and an extra +1 CR for every unit within 12 of your BsB, you are going to be across the field in about 2-3 turns and just taking names. The Iron Breakers hold your center, giving you a big tough unit there, with the Oathstones close by to gaurd the flanks. By "setting the stone" you pretty much ensure that the entire army becomes impossible to flank. The warriors on the outside benefit from the Grumbling, and are "quick" flankers for your Longbeards. The miners are there to keep the enemy guessing, and to disrupt their gunnery if you are slowed. Your own cannon and bolt thrower are there to add some fire-support to your advance.

It's good to see that the army builder is still up, and iit's not too terribly backlogged. I'm looking itno the future (namely after I finsih my VC armies and add some more units to my 40K chaos marines. Here are some armies that are appealing... 1. Fantasy, 2000 points, Beast of Chaos I love the idea of having a monster army. Led by a dragon ogre shaggoth champion and filled up with as many minotaurs as can be effectively allowed. Doesn't really matter what marks are given (except for Tzeentch, I don't want this army to be magic based). Theme is that it will be an anceint race long since buried under the earth by the old ones. Converted arco-flagellants and daemonhosts used to represent them. 2. Fantasy, 2000 points, Dogs of War Most the lores of magic don't really appel to me fluffwise. The exception to this is the Lore of Light. I'm interested in an army based after the Lore of Light using the Dogs of War rules (I just love the rules for pikemen). 3. 40k, 1500 points, Chaos Space Marines I already have a number of models, but I'm looking to add to it. Fluffwise, they worship a chaos deity that represents greed, and as such I think they should be the best equipped marines around. I want a higly competitive army revolved around terminators. I'm thinking something like Deathwing on acid type of army. I'd prefer it if they don't have an icon save for Chaos Glory, but do as you see fit. Thanks! -Daelrog Last edited by daelrog; August 20th, 2008 at 19:44.. |

Daelrog- your DoW list is completed. I put in an Albion model, if that's alight. I wanted to give you a stubborn unit, or a tough-as-nails unit for your center, but I felt that dwarves would be against so much use of the "air-fairy" magic. And yes, I know that the Cursed Company is undead and the lore of light is bad for them, but remember- Konrad despises his pregenitors, and thus would be easily swayed to join this army, if it were hunting down vampires and the like (lore of light? probably is, second only to lore of life) L4 Hireling Wizard w/ power stone @ 235 Albion Truthsayer @ 265 Paymaster w/ heavy armor, crossbow, enchanted shield @ 79 Hirleing Wizard w/ 2 Dispell Scrolls @ 110 20 Pikemen w/ Heavy armor @220 20 Pikemen w/ Heavy armor @220 10 Crossbowmen @ 80 8 Duellists w/ pistols @ 72 7 Light Cavalry w/ Spears @ 84 7 Light Cavalry w/ Spears @ 84 19 Paymaster’s Bodygaurds w/ heavy armor @ 190 15 Cursed Company @ 355 Total: 1994

Daelrog, your Exiled "beastmen". I changed the Shaggoth as a leader, to a DoomBull. The Shaggoth could not have carried magic items, and would only have benefitted from the Marks of Chaos. The Doombull however can become quite formiddable and still take effective marks. Finally, he allows you to take your Minotaurs as core... so of course we want lots of those! It let me include a few more units of different monsters. Went with Khorne, for the sake of frenzy seeming to fit the Daemon models you're using, and also because it lets you save on magic defense characters. I also tossed in a few names, with kind of a twisted 'Lizardmen' feel, since they represent names given by the old-ones. Lords: Kal’gareshii, king of the Exiles Doom Bull w/ Heavy Armor, Slaughterer’s Blade, Enchanted Shield, Talisman of Protection, Mark of Khorne @ 291 Core! : Kal’gareshii’s bodygaurd 4 Minotaurs w/ light armor, additional hand weapons, standard bearer, mark of Khorne @ 253 Revenge of the Exiles 5 Minotaurs w/ additional hand weapons, standard bearer, mark of Khorne @ 285 5 Minotaurs w/ additional hand weapons, standard bearer, mark of Khorne @ 285 The hunting hounds of Kal’Gareshii 6 Warhounds @ 36 5 Warhounds @ 30 5 Warhounds @ 30 Special: The Spawn of the Exiles 3 Chaos Trolls @ 165 3 Chaos Trolls @ 165 Rare: Kettar Qu’rok – champion of the Exiles Dragon Ogre Shaggoth w/ Great Weapon, Light Armor @ 306 Doom and Despair - Fates of the Exiles 2 Blood-Beasts of Khorne @ 150 Total: 1994

Wow, that was fast, and really, reall good. You cna't even imagine how well you did these lists because you even added elements to the army backgrounds that I had not even mentioned. My DoW list is actually supposed to be run by a vampire who has a grduge against his kin. It fits well with the fact that VC is my main army. The cursed company fits all too well. I also really like what you did with the BoC list. I already know a number of conversions I'll do, but I'll have to come up with a few more to accomodate the trolls and the hounds. It'll be fun. Double rep. Edit: Where are the rules for the truthsayer? Last edited by daelrog; August 21st, 2008 at 03:31.. |
