I've been in this hobby for approximately quite a while yet have never got hold of a GW carry case. At present I use various flight cases and filing things packed with home-cut (I say cut, more ripped in a hurried fashion) to carry my minis around. Now this has done quite a good job but It's not quite up to par with the nice figure case I'd like to think my minis deserve.
But the problem is, all the pre-cut foam things I've seen for standard 28mm models probably won't fit most of my models in (I have a penchant for putting things in stupid poses on bases too big for their own good, covered in various spiky bits. Chaos player you see).
Can anyone recommend a decent figure case company, preferably one who do quite large (huge**) foam trays along with a solidly constructed case. I've been looking at the battle hive things, specifically the Battle Hive 2. It seems quite pricey but I was wondering if anyone's got one already and love it / had one and hated it? Or is there another company out there that does something good? Remember, it must be solid! It may double as a table/shelf/footrest.
Oh, and if they don't ship to the UK for a reasonable price, they are fools, fools I tell you!
Alternatively should I stop being a chump and buy the GW case. I've got one of those apocalypse backpacks and nothing to put in it
**To give a vague idea of how much space I'll be needing, I have a lot of models on 40mm bases, quite a few bikes/monsters on heavy weapon team bases, and a daemon prince who takes up as much room as a land raider in the case I've got. Not to mention the land raider. There are also a multitude of infantry and character models who insist on not staying anywhere near within the confines of their standard bases.
If I've replied, i've probably used Italics...
