Hi Ive been into game and seen the 40k pc game Dawn of War im interested in it but i havent played them and I dont just the workers at game in my area as they are all goons lol.
Can anybody tell me what their like and if there worth buying please
If you like 40k, and you like RTS (real time strategy) type games there is no way you will be unhappy with Dawn of War. Go get it right now. Make sure you get all the expansion packs so you can play pretty much everything but Tyranids.
yup, and since you've waited you should be able to buy the original game in a pack with some expansions (Platinum or Gold ed).
DoW 2 should be out around spring 2009

also you can purchase Warhammer 40k Final Liberation. This is one of my favorite warhammer 40k games. It is kind of clunky and only has IG, SM, and Orks, but it does have all superheavies and weird forge/world epic 40k type things (Warhounds, Reavers, and whatever the Ork walkers were called).

Yea its £40 with all the expansions and as it seems that I will like it as its my type of game so ill have to get it me thinks.
Ill be playing SMs anyway so that cool also are you able to create custom chapters?
You can make Chapters, Legions, Regiments, Craftworlds, Kabals, Waaaghs!, Tombworlds, Septs, and Orders that are differently colored with the army painter, but they will still play the same as the standard race.
There are some mods you can download though to get actual differences in playing, such as one for Grey Knights and Daemonhunters, Thousand Sons, Steel Legion, and others.
I'm not positive about this, but I think if you just buy Soulstorm from Steam, you can play as every race without having to activate them with CD codes from the old games.
Ok cool thanks for the help guys ill have to pick it up asap
You're going to be hooked! Make sure you have ample time because it will suck you in!
BTW: Necrons pwn in DoW
DoW is one of the greatest RTS games around (of course, I say one of the- there is stil CNC3). The killing moves that the units do are just awesome. Most other games, your unit shoots/stabs the enemy, whereas in this, the units club, bash, and sever etc their opponents. When 2 units are in combat, ZOOM IN.
As to other 40K games, Starcraft is disturbingly similar to 40K (personally, I think they "borrowed" ideas from GW but hey, personal opinion), and Fire Warrior apparently is pretty good.
@Enjoi, are you thinking of Gargants or Squiggoths? Gargants iirc are the big Titans while Squiggoths are big huge creatures akin to the Mumakil from LOTR.
yeah thats what I was mentioning and stompers!!!. Final Lib. had Gargants no Squiggoths though (althought that would be fun). Final Liberation is interesting because its based on Epic 40k.
Also you run into interesting tanks, like the Leviathan (SM) and Lungbursta (orks), I think a talented converter could have some fun with all the old epic tanks galliered in Final Lib.
I think anyone that hasn't should google DoW 2 and check out the teaser video. Its too short, but it is still very fun .
Also I have to disagree slightly about Fire Warrior depending on how much you can get it for (its worth maybe $12)and Unless you just can't get enough warhammer no matter how much you try!!! there are other better similar games out there (Republic Commando, Rainbow 6 Las Vegas)

A while back, someone posted a link to the DoW2 site. I have to say that the Screenshots look awesome (the graphics are simply amazing), and the Trailer Video, whilst odd, is still very cool.
