Wondering how to balance this set up

Okay the other night my friends and I had a battle with this set up

I army on the bridge and one on each table. On the bridge was the objective. Now I think you all know what happened the on how started in the middle got rocked. The battle was really fun and we like the set up, but we are wondering how to balance the battle.

X points per table, 2X points in the middle. Only way I can think of.

Okay makes sense we thought of adding points to the person in the middle but not doubling what they have. The only problem with that is they start on the objective and there are no teams.

Play around with various missions and special rules. Say, make the bridge XXX to take or something.

Tinker around with the points a bit, and run with what works.

You can also put 3 objectives. The one in the middle of the bridge would be the easiest to defend, but worth the fewest points to the defender, but more to the attacker. The ones, at the ends of the bridge would be worth less points to the attackers, but more to the defenders. This would force the defender to make the trade off to push out or pull in.

If you could manage three tables and one interconnecting bridge (in the shape of a 'T' or a 'Y') I think it would become infinitely more balanced. You could then be sure one player would not be trapped between two and objectives could be evenly spread out.
