Yes: I don’t have a problem with it.
No: There are several problems with using these models (please state).
I've just came across this beautifully converted Mechanicus army. I myself have converted a lot of stuff in my armies just look at the army thread attached to my signature.
Now I feel an important factor of vehicle conversions is too keep the model the same size: a converted hellhound must be the same size as the original for example.
This guy has converted both Leman Russes & Hellhounds into large mechanical robots and while the conversions are brilliant would you except these models in a standard game for what they represent or do you feel that changing the size of a vehicle is against the rules?
My only issue would be making sure I knew what was what before the game. Nothing about either of those models screams "Hellhound" or "Leman Russ".
Other than that, it's not big deal to me. Those are pretty cool conversions.
It'd fly in my store no problems.
In 4e I'd have no problem at all, particularly if the bases are of the size of the tank. In 5e, since LOS is based on true sight it's slightly more of a touchy issue (with the leman russ conversion; the hellhound one seems to be of more or less the same size). I know I would play just fine, but I could understand someone having issues with that too. (The biped robot form is quite taller than the tank, or so it seems).
For tournament play, I suppose it'd be reasonable to have issues, but for friendly games, I don't think it should be an issue at all.
You mean the Counts As rule?
Nothing wrong with it, just as long as I were aware of what these conversions were, as has been said before.
And as long as there weren't any "real" Leman Russ kicking around in teh same army - those are awesome though - the Leman-Russ Equiv looks a lot like a mini-Knight!
So long as he was clear before the game what was what, it'd be fine by me. Those are AWESOME conversions.
