I was just curious as to what I would have to do to get more comments on my wip/painting and misc. threads?

Da mek shop in particular has had 800 views (I'm amazed too) in the past couple of days but only 2 comments, and most of the comments through the entire thread are from myself anyway.

Anyone that has a project thread, or even an ongoing WIP knows how much some comments can spur them on to keep going, I lost a lot of desire to finish the shop because it seemed like no-one cared.

I don't know what you would class this is, I know I'm no jamsessionein or, cydric the mad I am trying and honest feedback is what I'm after, I'd like to know that it looks like I'm improving, even if its the tiniest bit, or if you just dislike something for no reason at all? tell me!

You might want to consider being a member of more than one forum.
I suggest Warseer but there are some other really good ones. The more places
people see your work, the more comments you will get.
Also depends on what kind of response you looking for. I often post anything
which I think is good value, helpful, shiny and new and not mentioned on here
so far, some times people thank me but more often than not it’s swamped with
other peoples threads.
Just take a deep breath and remember why your posting, is because you really
care what internet people think of your stuff, or because your proud of what
you have done and want to show the world regardless.

People will post on what they're interested in, or things that they actually have something to say with. If all you're looking for is "hey, good job!" you'll probably find yourself quite disappointed, but if you actively ask for and seek criticism and help, you'll probably get a bit more comments.

Just be patient. With that many views, you're going to get some comments. Don't forget that some people are paying attention to your threads; getting replies isn't what you're trying to achieve with WIP threads, you're trying to show off your works in progress. Don't worry about replies, they'll come in time. Until then, just stick with it.

Look, 2 comments already. To be honest, I've taken a look at your WIP a couple of times and while it's pretty cool to watch the progress, I don't have much that is meaningful to add and probably won't until it's almost done. I plan on starting a small refinery piece soon, and I'll post that here too. We'll see if I get any comments or suggestions.

I'm seeking crits and comments of any kind, just to know someone is watching and not just skimming over it now and again helps me push along, I do it to show what I've done and also to show you guys, because I don't play with them I don't have a real use in painting them for myself.

LOL smarty, I know that, but I have to go through the entire thread, which for the mek shop is probably like 40 posts and copy them all over... its work I dont want to do, and sometimes it doesn't copy the links for pictures and I'm left with giant spaces going "so here is my fort"

I'm sorry but I'm with LN on this. If you want Critics post of various Sites and also put your work out there on Deviant art etc. i mean i get annoyed when something i post never gets posted on because no one is interested. Just the way of the world.

I think deviant art is the worst site possible for anything. No offense if you love it but for me personally its more about art, and although people have forgotten that, I don't feel my PIP and WIP projects belong there, and besides its a pain in the ass and a half to upload anything, I feel like I'm ordering subway.

I agree with basically everyone about lack of posts and I have learned that Lost nemesis is right over time i've got more and more comments on my modals as they have improved to.

I post on Da Waaagh and Its basically the same thing. I would just continue modaling and painting and post pictures then the posts will come.
