Default 40K Novels- Which ones to read

Hey I'm looking for a good read and I'm not sure which 40K novels are good and which are bad so if anyone can recommend anything: much appreciated!
(Preferably something with Necrons if you can )

I haven't read any novels containing significant necrons but i have ready one of the gaunts ghosts anthologies and I really enjoyed it.

I can also suggest another anthology that i read which was about the space wolves. It was also fantastic.

Do you have any specific names for the books? That would help find them.

You cant go wrong with the Horus Heresy books or the Eisenhorn Series, both are extremely good

Anything by Dan Abnett.

Brilliant author, methinks.

EDIT:

I have to second the Eisenhorn series. Awesome books. (Written by Abnett too!)

I still love the Last Chancers series of books. This consists of 13th Legion, Kill Team and Annihalation Squad. Great series of books in my opinion.

Last chancers are GREAT!!!!!!

I also strongly recommend the Caiaphas Cain series. There are 5 books and a short story, I enjoyed them all. However there are a lot of haters, claiming that the series sucks. Simply, they are wrong.

For Gaunt's Ghosts, there's:

First and Only
Ghostmaker
Necropolis

>>>(all 3 collected in The Founding Omnibus)
Honour Guard
The Guns of Tanith
Straight Silver
Sabbat Martyr

>>>(all 4 collected in The Saint Omnibus)
Traitor General
His Last Command
The Armour of Contempt
Only in Death.

The Eisenhorn Series has:

Xenos
Malleus
Hereticus

Then there's the Ravenor Series:

Ravenor
Ravenor Returned
Ravenor Rogue

The Space Wolf series is another favourite:

Space Wolf
Ragnar's Claw
Grey Hunter
Wolfblade
Sons of Fenris
Wolf's Honour

The Blood Ravens Omnibus features Necrons - although I didn't think they were as well written as some of the other books - the first three Horus Heresy books are really very good...
