I know this question has probably been asked a thousand times over but what are the laws on using LOTR model parts in my 40k/fantasy armies in terms of tournies and such?

The official GW position for the past year or two has been that if your army includes parts from LOTR you are not eligible for Best Presentation, and if you win another prize, your army will not be allowed to be photographed for White Dwarf, GW Website, etc etc. Of course this is for like, GamesDay, GTs, WarHammerWorld. If it's just a local thing, nobody cares if your Hive Tyrant has Balrog wings or there are some Mordor Trolls masquerading as Ogre Mercenaries.
