Welcome to Librarium Online!
I recently managed to pick up a marauder dragon miniature for cheap on ebay. but when i got it the things tiny! is this supposed to be the case for GW dragons? its only 6cm tall, about 9cm wide (wingspan) and about 2 and a half times the size of a dwarf crossbowman. How do people ever use these for mounts? i think my mates elf cavalry are going to be taller than it! Sorry about the crappy image my camera is crap. the pic is just for size. As you can see its hardly an impressive scary beastie!
Sorry for posting here if im not supposed to. i just couldnt find anything about the GW dragon size on the net.
Are there better and bigger ones out there? Or is that about it?
The OOOLD dragons were tiny, but then again, when this was released, there were actually numerous different sizes of Dragon (Dragon, Great Dragon, Emperor Dragon etc etc). The later released Kargos the Despolier + Thaindal Lord of Caledor was a much better sized dragon...
If you don't mind converting, Reaper Miniatures has some well-made dragons about the size of a 40k Rhino--a little larger, in fact.

Thanks for that.
Just had a look on reaper and theres some fantastic dragons. I even bought a few dwarves to use as hero models...and for way cheaper than GW store. Think I'll have to pay off some credit card before i go buying one of the dragons though. but they do seem worth it for the quality
The current High Elf dragon is about 8 inches long, 8 inches high, and has a 1ft wingspan. That's just approximating, as I don't have the model right here to measure. Basically, you can park a Rhino on each wing, or line a unit up, 5 wide, under each wing.
The base-size is one of the chariots. Other dragons use the 40mm square bases, the ones twice the size of a cavalry base. That should be enough for you to figure something out.
