Ok Ive noticed a good deal of my warhammer fanatsy calvary cannot fit in base to base contact. Im thinking of putting thm on movement trays, but they are still like a couple mm apart. Does anyone here have a problem with that? Does the model HAVE to be in base to base contact, and if they physically cannot do you let it slide?
If a Million Guardsmen die, that's a statistic. If one marine dies, that's a tragedy.
You should be able to fit cavalty models base-to-base without any gaps - which mdoels are you having difficulties with? B2B is important as most cavalry units run 6 to the front to get corner to corner vs 5 wide 20mm base infantry. If your unit is slightly space, then you lose this (though I would let it slide, as I know that the base sizes are standard, so expect a 6-wide cav unit to maximise and hit with all models on a 5-wide standard infantry unit.)

I know that sometimes the feet touch on some of the model- my elves especially. However, I usually let it slide, even in competition play.
I also keep them in movement trays, but that's just a nicety. Remember- GW movement trays only fit 4 cavalry bases for some reason. So even then you're taking a hit, unless you want to build your own.
