Hey Guys (yes I came up with another question and I am sure you guys are starting to get annoyed :/ , BUT....)
I was wondering, which game between Warhammer 40k and Warhammer Fantasy Battles would be the best game for a complete newbie to start off with? Its because my younger cousin wants to start one of them (he's twelve, and pretty mature for his age) and I was wondering which you guys consider to be (not easiest but) simplest and quicker to get the hang of?
And when I say newbie, I mean never played a game with models before.

Not Orks - he'd need a metric tonne of models, and have to paint them all. I'd also say Chaos Marines are slightly harder than regular ol' loyalist Marines, simply because they have more details and are harder to paint.
Space Marines are his best bet. Regular Codex Marines, not any of the variant chapters like Dark Angels or Black Templars.
Of course, I'm personally a follower of the School of Hard Knocks in this regard, and would recommend one of the harder and more technical armies, like Eldar or Sisters of Battle, but that's just me.
Yeah, 40k's the way to go I think. Superhuman heroes with big guns are pretty cool, as are aliens. As gauss_storm said, something like marines that is a bit forgiving would be a good idea.

yea 40k is a lot easier for kids to grasp, if they do go fantasy make sure at their opponent is at least someone older and knows the rules well. (gets so annoyed when i hear kids bickering over fantasy rules playing on a nearby table)
space marines are basically "40k for dummies", so should be a good start as well. but it really comes down to what army he thinks looks best and kills things the way he wants them to.
I have seen plenty a young player play FB just as well as 40K. You should ask which universe is more interesting to him: lasers/tanks/aliens or wizards/dragons/elves etc
Space marines, seriously.
After painting 60 or so chaos marines, painting just ten loyalist marines is about 3 times quicker as there is no major detail to worry about.
Slightly off topic (but not completly) I saw a couple of new people playing Warhammer the other day Skaven vs Dwarfs. They were getting on ok except they weren't rolling to wound. If you got hit you had to make an armour save........
Anyway point is first first first thing you should buy is the rule book and the army book.

Personally, I got started on IG, but that's cause I have this insane love for armor. As much as I hate to say, I would almost suggest a small space marine force. Best option? Probably AoBR. Be a good intro, anyway.
