Ok two very simple questions.
Do you think Games Workshop take note of what is posted on LO?
If they do what do you think they take away from LO? for instance do you think they use feed back on rules or gameplay or do they use LO to gauge what is popular for instance.
Hmm, I woulddn't be suprised if they did, but if I am totally honest, no I don't think they do.
Rork: In the dark future of the 41st millennium there is only friendship.
Fenrir: and magic.
Kaiser-: My Little Chaos Marine, Friendship is Heresy?
They read LO,
they take away reasons to sue the board because the Mods missed a few stats people posted.
As for influencing design or game play, I seriously doubt it.
Arch Overfiend & Grand Despot
I currently play:
Doom Eagle Space Marines
Hive Fleet Omega Tyranids
Goff Ork Boyz(dead)
Tau of O'me
Inquisitorial Xeno Hunters
and my attempted foray into fantasy
'Dark Angel Green' Dark Elves in need of fluff
I agree somewhat with omegoku, i think they know of LO, but aren't influenced by it.
It would be nice if they where, so any GW employee reading this, BoC and dark eldar need loving!
Got a "good" rumour from a GW staffer? Forget about it, LO'ers know more than any random GW shop staffer.
Voor alle nederlanders:
The Dutch Legion
Probably. Id imagine they would be aware of the main forums for their games. A few groups have been mentioned in WD from time to time. Maybe we should start a petition to get LO mentioned in WD?
Currently play: 4000+ of Black Legion
A lot of GW employees I have met over the years attend at least one online forum. Usually it is WarSeer or Bolter and Chainsword, although I have met a few who said that they checked LO as well.
As for it influencing their decisions when it comes to rules design, I dunno... I think that the "general opinion of the gamin community" might have some influence, ie. if they see that a few certain opinions pop up on all major online communities, then it it might influence their design decisions to a certain degree.
But GW is know to employ the concept of "Because we say so and to hell with the rest of you!", so what we think might mean naff to some of the inflated egos designing the game... (that topic about WH Fantasy "rules testing" from a few weeks back spring to mind...)

We're not a big enough forum to really be noticed on the big, wide internet. Though our rumor scrounging abilities are astounding (well, JVK and tyfus, mostly), We don't have the sheer size of places like warseer, or CMON.
But if you are listening...
REDO BEASTS OF CHAOS. MAKE NEW GOR/UNGOR MODELS. HAVE ALY MORRISON DO THE SCULPTS. THANK YOU. ALSO DARK ELDAR NEED TLC.
The above would be nice, GW.
How dare you speak out against LO! I shall beat you with a giant inflatable duck and then ban you to the lowest level of hell! ~Karmoon
My recruitment link!
I didn't till just now and nether did anyone in the office.
It wouldnt surprise me if there are a million online groups for just about everything
so how can a company keep track of every single online forum that discuss their products?
But if they do.
please bring back the Lost and the Damned list!!!!!

I AM BOOMER!
They wont take any notice of one small board in amongst hundreds of others. No disrespect to LO at all but the sum of the people here is a tiny fraction of the paying populace - the people GW WILL listen to being those who splash the cash.
They will only come here if breaches of copyright are referred to them.
They dont have legions of people scanning thousands of posts a week looking for stuff breaching their T&C.
We're small potatoes. But that's no bad thing really. It's not important.
If you DO want a response, write them an ACTUAL letter, not an email.
