This question popped into my head when I was reading the New Year's Resolutions. What are you budgeting to spend? I'm particularly interested given the escalation of miniature prices (not just GW) and the current state of the economy.
So far, I don't have a budget. I've been trying not to buy for buying's sake, though some of the new Ork stuff coming out is pretty nice and I almost walked away from the LA Battle Bunker with a Barbed Hierodule. I'm also trying to clear my back stock of unpainted figures and random buying isn't going to help out with that.
Well I never reall thought about it but thusfar I've limited myself to two armies (one 40k and the other wfb). I do spend however much I need on it though, buisness before pleasure of course comes into effect. Though I don't go overboard and spend tons on it!

Due to having overspent this year, wanting to go to university in 2010, and a few various other reasons of equally varying significance, almost nothing.
My budget for 09 is the same as every year. If there is money after bills gas and food buy a box or two of something
If you do things right people wont be sure if you have done anything at all.
I do not have a budget per-se. If I have the money on me when I see something I want I get it. If not I squirel it away until I can.
I really need to be painting right now.......
Oh dear, I think working all day with profit margins and balance sheets makes
me into a even bigger nerd than most!
Well for my Barghesi & Khrave army I need to spend £83 to finish it, but I also do need
to buy some cheap plastic pens which cost less that a pound at Asda to make some tankbustas.
And plus a train ticket to the G.W in Bedford so that’s £7. So that will be £91 for that army.
For my next army (Female Chaos Tau) I plan to budget £300.00 but that does depend on me
having a job (bearing in mind current world problems).
So I guess I could say around the £500 mark for 2009, which is not that much really when
I think that I will most likely spend the following in 2009,
£1715.50 on cigarettes.
£3120.00 on weed.
£1274.00 on bus fares.
£1440.00 on food and rent (I live with my girlfriends parents that’s why that’s so low)
£143.98 on going to the cinema.
£54.00 on white dwarf.
£41.08 on sliver rizler.
£1976.00 on beer.
Atleast with a I won’t have to pay money into my pension after all that smoking and drinking!
Happy New Year!
I AM BOOMER!
probably a thousand dollars-- I want the new lizard stuff and am hoping for second string DE; plus I want to pick up the new rats if they look any good.
Budget? Never made an official account of what I have spent or what I will be spending... But given the fact that the prices go up and the salaries stay the same... I think I have to think of it!
Now I think I spent each month about 50 euros in GW products, either minis or supplements and stuff, so... I would say my badget for 2009 is 600 euro!
Thanks to all the people showing faith in me
I sometimes feel that everyone will leave me and they will be on their own...
my budget for '09 is relatively small. i only have a few more items to get to finish mny Death Guard army. I have bought much of it already or traded for things to add to it. So other than a Demon Prince, some CSM boxes for Nurgle conversions and some FW Death Guard doors and CSM extra armor im set. I might need another Plague Marine squad for an Apoc game but so far i have lots of point fillers.
May the "Nurgley Goodness" protect you!
I don't really set a budget for things. I do try not to spend too much, but if I want something, I'll buy it. I've managed to get into a good habit as far as GW is concerned, of only buying at about the same rate that I'm painting. Since I've only just come out of a run of a couple of months of not getting around to painting anything, I haven't spent much money at all in GW for quite some time.
Thou shalt remember:
Warhammer Fantasy armies do NOT have Codices. They have Army Books.
