Hi there, Archlord101 here, just wondering what dice you guys all use, I am planning on getting the following (number of dice in brackets):
Mini 6 Sided Emerald Dice with Gold Pips - 6 Sided Dice (12)
Mini 6 Sided Blue Dice with Gold Pips - 6 Sided Dice ( 8 )
Pearlized Silver and Black 6 Sided Dice - 6 Sided Dice (4)
Pearlizd Blue and Gold Swirled Six Sided Dice with Gold Numbers - 6 Sided Dice (4)
Speckled Earth 6 Sided Dice - 6 Sided Dice (4)
As well as:
Oval Plastic Dice Cup - Game Dice Stuff (1)
High Quality Cloth Dice Bag 4" X 5" - Game Dice Stuff (1-Purple)
So what dice do you guys use, and where do they come from?
I just love the speckled Earth ones, as well as the Perlized Silver and Black, go well with Necrons don't you think?
I really don't mind what dice I have so long as there are plenty of them in a few different colours. I just use the GW dice, even though I know they're not the greatest.
All of the dice I use are Chessex, specifically the cubes that hold 36 dice. Colors are themed to the armies. Yep, I'm a bit crazy that way.
My Bretonnians use a dark red set and a dark blue set, with gold pips.
My Raven Guard use a black set and a dark red set with white pips.
I've got a couple other boxes floating around for other uses. I'm a bit of a dice fiend.
Cool, I think I'll have a look around cheesex to see if they have any better/cheaper dice.
You know, looking at those fancy dice makes me want to buy some. As if I wasn't already spending enough on miniatures...*sigh*
Regular GW dice does it for me.
Some say they are really bad, but I'm not able to see the problem, they're just dice.
5000p. High Elves
It's quite a mess really. If I'm at the club (not often nowdays) I use theirs. Red if I remember right, black and blue for special weapons and such but if I'm playing at home it's like...crazy. I've got only a handfull and they come from various games, borrowed from my kids' games, my old RPG-dice and whatever really. The scatterdice is handpainted and... most of you would cry ... or luagh...or cry while luaghing.
It works fine though and I don't play that often anyway
I get all my dice from chessex. I like the golden colbolt in the 16mm size as I hate the 12mm tiny dice they sell at GW! Though I do have a bunch of the 12mm I got from sets, but I just use them for back up or in case someone forgets theirs.
I used to have themed dice sets- aqua and gold for my elves, and then a city-gray/black for my Marines. My other armies got stuck using the extras. Now it's just down to my city dice since I've lost the aqua set. I have swapped 1 of the dice in the set for a gold/silver die that is used to denote special weapons and the like. The little ****s went on rebellion though two days ago, and rolled poorly for my first game with Chaos. I think I'll be buying new themed dice for that army, since they probably taint all my dice with their presence.
I also have a set of white and black gaming dice that were cobbled together from the top of my painting table. No idea where they're all from, but they tend to do quite nicely for me.
My final "set" is the mother of all dice sets. Three, HUGE 1" dice. I roll them for character attacks, deployment and first turn rolls, and whenever something truly epic is about to happen. I got them at an arcade, after winning a few tickets my friends and I each got 3 to use for gaming. It was funny to see the girl at the counter look at us funny when we said that we wanted 9 huge plastic dice...
