What in your opinion s the best heavy infantry in the game, I think that it's chosen. They beat out Temple guard for the mere reason of better I and Gaze of the gods.
If a Million Guardsmen die, that's a statistic. If one marine dies, that's a tragedy.
Grave Guard accompanied by a Vampire or Wight King carrying the Banner of Drakenhof.
4+ (3+ with hand weapons) save, Regeneration, the ability to be brought back from the dead in large numbers, Killing Blow, the ability to take Great Weapons.

This thread could do with a poll.
To be honest my knowledge of some of the newer army books is slim, so cannot comment on Grave Guard, Chaos Warriors (traditionally one of the, if not the best infantry) or Temple guard.
Swordmasters and either Hammerers/Ironbreakers are also excellent heavy infantry that deserve a mention, and can go toe to toe with most other options.

Cheap as chips, there are more of them than you can shake a thigh-bone at and they auto-break most units in the game when they beat them in combat. They also look really cool too.
You show me a unit that 300 points of skeletons can't intimidate... Well actually, don't do that because there are plenty. But you get my point. I am not sure there is a best unit generally. You might identify the unit with the best stats or save or whatever but you need to pin it down a little.
Why not say what's the best 300 point Heavy Infantry Unit? And start a poll, that way you have an objective way to compare. A sort of votewar arrangement. After all I have heard it works!
Swordmasters. Name another infantry unit that 14 of them 7 across cannot beat. I know chosen but not many will hit back.
Daemonic cheese-how? Well, you would need to start with daemonic milk, i guess...
