White Dwarf magazine was $9 this month. They just raised it to $8 from $6 in November. Anyone have some insight into why the mag went up by 50% in 4 months? I can understand that the economy is in a slump but everything else is staying the same price (inflation is around 0% a month). I know it has made me look at the issues for content before buying them - I chose to skip the April issue.
Anyone else as annoyed as me?
Stopped buying them.
It's too much to pay for a glorified product catalogue.
+ that i'm not a fan of orks, so the last 4 issues or so have been pretty much void for me.
Thats another point - some issues have been almost completely devoted to a single army/game. I wonder how many people subscribe vs pick up the mags individually. Their subscription locks you in and I think they are a little too comfortable knowing there is no way out if you pay up front.
Simple market rules - if something is not selling, get the prize up so that people think it's worth it.
