I'm writing this at 12:30 AM, so bare (bear?) with my (possible) insanity...
Does anyone know if there is going to be a 40k campaign this summer? I heard somewhere that GW is no longer doing summer campaigns, which is... well... ridiculous... If that's true, then I have truly lost all hope in this company. Yes I will still play - it's impossible to stop - but it will seem like such a hollow experience.
Campaigns gave life to the 40k games and made each battle seem legitimately worth fighting. The game itself will always be fun (to me, at least) but is it now going to never change?
I'll leave with this: The general populace thrives via constant change. Lack of change results in stagnation. Stagnation leads to disinterest.
supposedly the next big 40k thing is going to be Planetstrike. don't know too much about it or such, but it's going to be another expansion like Apocalypse and involve things dealing with the invasion of planets and such.
as for when it's supposed to happen, i don't know; though i doubt it'll be released in the summer, i should think that it'll be out some time within a year from now.
other than that, you can always look for a map campaign or other such at your local gaming club (i know my gw currently has one of those in progress).
