What army (fantasy and/or 40k) Do you absolutly dread fighting? For me it's Dark elves, I have yet to beat them. As for 40k I usually fight Marines and have nothing against them.
If a Million Guardsmen die, that's a statistic. If one marine dies, that's a tragedy.
I don't enjoy fighting the Eldar in 40k, and in WHFB its probably WEs
For me it is not so much a specific army that I hate facing as it is an army type. I hate facing the all-or-nothing list that can be made by just about every army book out there. That's the list that will either have you tabled by turn 2 or you will crush them. I play games to have a good afternoon/evening of fun. When the game is already decided after a couple rolls of dice, it takes all the joy out of it for me.
The lists usually end up being one extreme or the other. 1) The gunline list. If you can get into close combat with them you win, if you get shot up in turn 1 & 2 you lose. and 2) The CC rush list. If they survive to get into CC with you by turn 2 you lose, if not you win. Either way the game is usually decided by turn 2. That is the type of game I hate playing, not necessarily any particular army, but a specific list.
So I guess if I had to choose an army I would pick the ones that make most use of those kinds of lists. Tau, IG, Dwarves, and Empire for gunline. Tyranid, Khorne, Orc(k) lists for CC rush. There are many different types of builds that can be made from these codex/army books so if someone has a different type of list then I don't mind playing against those armies at all.
WE, he's just constantly unshootable, and when he does strike i get slaughtered, DAMN YOU FORUMJAYZ!
Got a "good" rumour from a GW staffer? Forget about it, LO'ers know more than any random GW shop staffer.
Voor alle nederlanders:
The Dutch Legion
Any army that contains special characters and would be unable to win without them
'cron vs. 'cron.
It's like fighting your reflection...
So... if I gave some daemons a matte paint-job, would they be "Matte Daemons?"
Necron Tactica: Flying Circus
Daemons of Chaos.
All the other "top-tier" lists I say "bring it on!" to, but Daemons are not fun to face and just so screwed over that even if you try to make a fairly "friendly" list you end up with something completely capable of laying waste to almost all opposition...
Tau, it is always a boring fight after I assault.
