Yeah, ive always wondered... Is it Ar-beet-ey? which sounds very Latin, or Ar-bit-es, which sounds pretty stupid, or what?

I think you got it right for the fist one, ar-bit-ey sounds right. Thats how I've always said it anyhow.

It would be "Ar-beet-ey" only if it was french. Its definetly not pronounced that way. Protocoons got it right. Ar as in "arr me hearties" and bites as in "he bites the apple." Arr-bites. (unless you're French)

I have always thought it to be pronounced Ar-bites.
I've always pronounced it as 'Arr-bit*-is**'.
(* As in 'He bit the apple'.
** As in 'He is Phobos'.)
