Welcome to Librarium Online!
Hey, i recently bought a couple sets of the GW foam you can bits order from the stores. When i got it, it was actually a harder foam then the normal stuff I was used to from GW. I ran into a small problem when trying to fit my Terminators into the foam. While the size of the soldier slot is the same, the foam is alittle harder so the model doesnt sink into the foam like they used to.
General question is, how does everyone else put their termies or any other larger based models into the regular GW foam.
I'll try to take a picture to show you what I mean, at work atm

Cutting the foam away to make a larger slot for the terminator is a good option. Be sure to (carefully!) use a really sharp knife to cut it tidily.
You could also work the foam with your hands (compress it, stretch it a bit) until its broken in. It might be a little more compliant with what you want it to do then.
At the end of the day you could take it back to the GW and ask for a replacement. The worst they can say is no.
