I just want to know whether or not the fanbase is big enough or expanding at a rate high enough for me to spend my money on it.
Fr what I've seen it's very popular. I love it. I always thought the LoTR models were some of the best they made. Its a very fun game. Definately worth the money. It's not as expensive either.
Vampire Counts Progress Log [W:2 D:1 L:1]
I have not seen it being played very often where I am. Over the past few months the only time I think that I have seen them being played is for a demo. Then again I am only able to go on saturdays so maybe they are just not played that day.
Well that will depend on where you live.
Where I live LotR in general isn't a popular system so, for me, spending £30 on a book when I know a grand total of three people who actually collect LotR would be a waste of £30. A shame really as I believe it is a far better system than either 40K or FB, but there we are.
only 1 lotr game has ever been played at my local store, since gw games even started.
leave the moderating to the moderators
if pro is the opposite of con, does that mean progress is the opposite of congress?
I have only seen LotR played twice at my GW, once for the war of the rings launch and once for a open games night
Tyranids W/L/D - 13/4/3
Vampire Counts - 1/2/0
Space Marines - 2/0/1
Well, before my store (memphis battlebunker) was closed, we had all of 0 people playing it.
Then again, we were 50/50 fantasy/40k, so i'm sure a couple of people must have played it...
So... if I gave some daemons a matte paint-job, would they be "Matte Daemons?"
Necron Tactica: Flying Circus
At my favourite independent stockist, they don't even stock it. So, i wouldn't start if you want to find laods of opponent, if you just wanna collect, go right ahead.
Got a "good" rumour from a GW staffer? Forget about it, LO'ers know more than any random GW shop staffer.
Voor alle nederlanders:
The Dutch Legion
Was at a GW-store today and tried a demo for it. Even though we explained to the staff-dude that we were experienced wargamers with far more interest in the core rules than just rolling loads of dice, he demo'd it like we were 12. Yeah... Was not that fun, although I might try to get my hands on the book to see what the real deal is.
Its becoming anoyingly popular here where im at.
Sometimes the best defense is a good offense... Wait, what?
