My naive friends asked me to a build the biggest force possible from my collection of armies, and said that they would match it. I know that each of them can field 3,000pts. With two armies of 4,500pts each, I was able to hit 9k with ease. So here's the problem: how do I organize this game??
Here are problems that I need to solve-My forces are divided in half, theirs into thirds. This causes trouble with the Force Organization system, because they are allowed to take more characters etc. than I am. We have
so tell me- is this fair? They have just as many lords as I do, but they get 2 more heroes, 3 special, and an extra rare, at the "expense" of at least 2 more core choices. The only thing that I can't do is make 3, 3000pt armies of my own. I'm a little short on models in the other armies which I collect, and for the sake of speed, I'd rather keep it down to 2 armies anyways. So guys, I'm turning to you for help. Also, since there are 3 armies present, how do we work out magic?
1) Each force gets separate Powerdice and Dispell dice
2) Each side of the table just get 2 of each at the start of each phase
3) They get 2 for their armies, I get 3 for each of mine
4) Can the armies dispel for each other?
5) Who do you take dice from when using 'dice stealing' items?
i dont know too much about whfb to comment on the force or ganisation, but with the magic as you sugested do 6 dcie each and then you should have a collective magic phase, whereby instead of taking it in turns each side does the magic at the same time so all 3 armies on 1 side des magic at the same time or whatever and the way they dispell or see the magic dice they decide and the same for you
not sure if this helps much but i hope it does.
I haven't read trough it recently to see if it has anything helpful, but I will point out that this exists and may be helpful: Legendary Battles Rules.

Rules for grenades are on page 72 of the rulebook.
Why not just split your forces into three armies and proxy what you dont have? I dont see how 9000pts is any faster in two armies as opposed to three. It's still 9000pts.
(WH40K) Dark Eldar - (12,000pts) Sisters of Battle - (5000pts) Dark Angels -(3500pts) (WHFB) Dark Elves - (10,000pts) Beastmen - (5000pts) Empire - (3000pts) Wood Elves - (1500pts)
Alright- I've read through the Legendary Battles rules before, but I didn't realize that they answered all of my magic dice problems.
For the record, they give 1 dice per player on the largest team. Otherwise it's all the same. Anyone can dispel, but nobody can share dice.
So- about the character/unit availability. I'm not sure if that quite balances or not. If anyone has any suggestions for that, if they think it would balance or if I should find a way to change it, go ahead.
